this could mean one of two things. 1 He is struggling financially and has to sell them to make money. 2 He is terminaly ill and is selling all his stuff because he won't need it. Except virtually no one does the latter unless their without issue or close family. You don't SELL your personal shit if you're about to die, you give it to the relatives you want to have it when you're gone. I left a 1% door open in my qualifying statement in case Pele is that big of a prick. SC

Rick MacLeish, a three-time all-star who scored arguably the biggest goal in Flyers history, died Monday night. He was 66. Mr. MacLeish had been battling meningitis, along with kidney and liver problems. The smooth-skating center had one of the league's most dynamic wrist shots, and he became the first 50-goal scorer in franchise history in 1972-73. Mr. MacLeish, the NHL's leading playoff scorer when the Flyers won Stanley Cups in 1974 and 1975, finished with 349 career goals. Announced on his gofundme page: https://www.gofundme.com/welovethomas Another $62,364 reasons not to donate to anyone's GoFundMe page created for medical reasons.I've only donated once and that was to a person I knew and who I shared a stage with once who needed funding to produce a new album and tour (sadly his tours never bring him by me). Oh and unless your country has some truly crazy laws, if a person dies their medical bills die with them. SirC

I'll say; the whole damn article is present tense and the two sentences about his demise, whatever it might be, are dismissive. Then it goes right back into present tense like he's alive. I dunno about this one. Bizarre indeed. SC

Guess that makes TODAY'S news all the more interesting. Chad's former dictator Hissene Habre raises his hand during court proceedings in Dakar, Senegal, Monday, May 30, 2016. Judge Gberdao Gustave Kam declared Habre guilty and sentenced him to life in prison for crimes against humanity, war crimes and torture, in a packed courtroom, Monday. I'm not versed in Chad's litigation system.... But something is askew. Anyway he won't last two years in a jail full of people HE out in there! Martin Senn, the Zurich Insurance Group AG chief executive officer who stepped down in a December reshuffle, has committed suicide, the company said in a statement on Monday. He was 59. The family informed Zurich Insurance that Senn had taken his own life on Friday, according to the statement. Senn was found in his holiday house in Klosters, a Swiss ski resort. Sounds like a fine way to go if you ask me. SC http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-05-30/martin-senn-former-zurich-insurance-ceo-dies-at-59

It was her surname D'Arc, from her father. There isn't a place called Arc (there is an Ars). Presumably her dad was an arch builder or was found under one or maybe just was. Oh I know where Ars is, believe me!

May 30: Fuck me it's a busy fucking day today! Joan of Arc (and where the fuck is Arc?) - 585 years Milton Bradley - 105 years Max Carey - 40 years Perry Ellis - 30 years And a ton of big names that don't follow the structure so will have to wait their turn. That said, I always pay tribute to Indy car driver Eddie Sachs who died this day. I peed in his lap when I was a baby (as if I needed to clarify that). SirC

Someone gave me five boxes of old VHS tapes, and I'm slowly plowing through them, bringing me to Resurrection (1980), starring fellow Detroiter Ellen Burstyn (b dec 7 1932) and also casting Madeleine Sherwood (billed as Madeleine Thornton-Sherwood) who died April 23, 2016. A couple others in the cast are Clifford David (b June 1932) and Lois Smith (b Nov 1930). All three are decent possibilities in the next few years. SirC
