Slipknot's lead singer's mask was stolen backstage, he performed without one for the first time ever last night. Sounds like KISS unmasked! Please let that be the only time Slipknot is mentioned in the same sentence as KISS. SC -

Niger’s opposition presidential candidate Hama Amadou has for the second time in less than a week been hospitalized. The 66-year-old former Prime Minister “fainted and was taken for first aid at the Filingué district hospital,” said his personal physician Harouna Yacouba. Dr. Yacouba said the jailed opposition leader needs “proper care” explaining that the Filingué center lacked adequate equipment. Amadou, who is being held for alleged child trafficking is said to be unwell although it is not clear what condition he is suffering. SC -
Blue Murder keyboardist Nik Green died last night (March 13) after what his former bandmate Tony Franklin called “a brave battle with cancer." He's feeling a little more Blue than Green now. SC

Thanks Sir C. As I understand it, TMIB requires that the other side also confirm his death before he qualifies for points. However, if TMIB wants to clarify and he qualifies on this basis, I'll add him to the next round up, but not yet. That's a tough get, relying on the other side's media, but understood. A qualifying obit is needed as well but that's obviously on it's way. -
Today is your lucky day, mate SC

A big one for The Living End, as none of the others at the top had him. Aye but he's in my Shadow list--and therefore a 'hit' in Shaun's game--AND on my team in the DP I run. SC -
"....Palin was returning to Alaska “to be with her husband and looks forward to being back on the campaign trail soon”. Either she expects a quick death, or it isn't too serious. OR, and I hadn't thought of this, she cares more about the country than her husband. LOL SC

I hope everyone celebrated Steak & BJ Day (March 14). There's still time! SC Edit: Not if you're 5 hours time difference from CST in the US of A. (that's all ya'll on the other side of the Pond). Then it's just too feckin late! Next year.... -
I can't speak for Mr Sallis' reasoning for being listed 10 years ago, but I cringe when I see some REAL dreadful threads being created for relatively young (under 70) people who aren't very ill presently or who have NEVER been ill beyond a common cold (Bono Vox could be the worst example, but don't press me, I'm sure I can find others). So I hope your post was made with a *hint* of that angst. SC (edit: well that didn't take long -- I open up the forums today and see a Madonna thread. Bono's thread is redeemed).

Rev. Robert Palladino, the monk who imbued Steve Jobs with the love of typography--so key to Apple's success--died February 26, aged 83. After leaving the monestary, Palladino began teaching calligraphy. One of Reed’s most famous students, although perhaps better known as a dropout, was Apple founder Steve Jobs. For years afterwards, Jobs would credit Fr. Palladino with not only encouraging him to package the original Apple computers with a variety of elegant fonts, a then-revolutionary concept, but also with his fascination with design that allowed the burgeoning computer company to stand out from the crowd and bring their products to a wider market. SHHHHH goddamit! Hard to imagine the winner of Miss Samoa getting the requisite Obit write ups for most deadpools Miss Samoa AND Miss South Pacific! True dat, but one has to separate themselves from the pack somehow. When a month goes by and no mention, I thought I had me a possibility. SC

No it isn't because it's a local page within the BBC News website. Sounds good to me, I'll let the powers that be sort that out. I'll just keep an eye out for the Lost. SC

Saw them twice in the 80s. This sux. Get well mate SC I can't find any details on the prognosis, but I'm assuming since they're only wishing to raise about $50,000 that the prognosis is promising. Don't have a link but the official X Facebook page says he's back on stage performing and gives a handful of upcoming dates. SC

Given precedent, you should be safe for top 50. If some of the really old guys start cancelling their appointments, even more so. As for Strickland, I believe I've found a DDP precedent. In December 2012, horse racer Owen Brennan disappeared. On the 10th January, after three weeks missing, he was found in the River Derwent. He was counted by TMIB as a 2013 death, even though time of death was never properly established, and Occam's Razor suggests there was a fairly obvious reason a near eighty year old with dementia couldn't be found before Christmas. Given we'll never be official on Strickland's date of death (though we all have suspicions), I'd assume under the Brennan principle, the points stay unless proven 100% wrong. That's all fine and good, but then my fahkin question re: Strickland I asked a couple days prior to 2016 needed to be addressed. Are you telling me nearly EVERYONE wouldn't have had him? Of course not. Nearly everyone presumed he was dead already. I've pointed out the absurdity of suggesting he lived for 3 days while his buddy was dead, in a blinding storm that obviously killed them. His WIFE said he had been dead for days, and I thought others posted here that a medical examiner determined the same. Regardless, allowing those points -- after refusing to answer my direct question about Strickland beforehand -- takes all the integrity of the 2016 DDP season away imo. SC
