404 page not found error http://www.examiner.com/article/munchkin-actor-jerry-maren-has-died Page and link active and they're calling bullshit. As am I. Dude was making appearances a few months ago. IT DOES say he had pancreatic cancer....who knew?!??! He was on my teams (2 of em) last year, goddamit. SC -
And the DL winner for posting the most useless pile of bollocks in their ouvre? football_fan has 2617 posts, and an almost impossible paucity of 2 'likes'. Also placing a bar of ineptitude and dislike as high as he can, Canadian Paul has over 4100 posts, and only 4 likes, which gives football_fan a fighting chance. SirC Edit: of course should one of the aforementioned come here and say 'fuck off Creep' they'll prolly get a couple 'likes' and off the schnide.

Dayton, OH: The Rev. William B. Schooler, 70, was fatally shot at St. Peter's Missionary Baptist Church early Sunday afternoon. Witnesses said the violence broke out in the middle of the service while the choir was singing. Schooler's brother, Daniel Schooler, 68, has been accused of the shooting. SC

Newsflash: India. Man slits the throats of 14 family members and then hangs himself. One sister survived and (if I read it right) a 3-month old baby was left alone altogether. SC -
As I may NEVER get to post in this thread again (ahead of others that is, e.g. Magere Hein lol), I am here to announce the passing of the former CEO of Belgacom--the leading telecommunications company in Belguim--Didier Bellens. I even am posting my first obit in the deceased's native tongue and an obit I can't read but trust it says what it's supposed to (unless it was written by Mr. Alexander Yacht). SC

Feb 29 is a tough one (not as tough as when it's an odd number year pffft), but sticking to our guns, the only one worth a mention from me is Mr. Wes Ferrell, who penned (or co-penned) Hang On Sloopy and the theme for the Partridge Family show, 'C'mon Get Happy'. He left us 5.....er..... 20 years ago this Leap Day (1996). SC

well if he were dead his brother would have had to take a week or so off of some movie set or summat, so 'follow the money' as it were. If he had to suddenly leave for some reason, you can put the tin foil hat back on. SC

I thought we fucked off this thread. We've had one forever why the hell doesn't an Admin delete this duplication. Or kill off the Next Piper at the Gates thread then. Jesus.... SC

Read Any Good Books Lately?

Reading an old (1980) social psychology book by Richard Sennett entitled 'Authority'; it explores how authority is generated, how it is accepted, and what legitimizes it. Seems a bit of a comparison in theories between Max Weber and Sigmund Freud, or maybe explores a blending of the two, and tries to fill in the gap that the author believes neither addresses: The role 'social exchange/interaction' plays in the process. Jason Bohn was taken to a hospital after suffering a mild heart attack following a second-round 72 at the Honda Classic on Friday. SC EDIT: For the record, if Sir Creep ever shot a 72, he would endure the same fate.

4 different shootings in the same city/area of Kansas. Edited to say : believed to be same shooter, but different crime scenes The 4 dead included the shooter, 14 more people were injured http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-35666108 No motive as yet. Apparently went off after being served a protection order from the woman he 'loved'. We all react differently. Let's not judge. SC

Man, another 'Club 69' member for 2016 music. We should start up a thread...... it's so much more likely to be of use than Club 27. Bowie, Frey, Baker....and counting. SC PS: Please don't start up a thread......

doesn't Robin Williams and David Bowie cunt. No they don't - they would be Class 2 deaths. ok what is this class system of deaths you mysteriously come up with. With examples please My personal class system falls as such: Class 1: Monarchs, former Prime Ministers, former Presidents of the United States. Major world statesmen. Historically important figures like Mandela. (Some Living examples: Queen Elizabeth, George Bush Sr, Jimmy Carter, John Major) Class 2: Internationally famous public figures Entertainers and authors etc - plus those who are massive in UK cultural history or worldwide cultural history. (Some living examples: Prince, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Mick Jagger, Kieth Richards , Vera Lynn, William Roache, Barbara Windsor, Tom Baker) Class 3: People's who are household names in the United Kingdom regardless of origin of heritage, but not necessarily internationally famous. (Some living examples: Bernard Cribbins, Norman Lamont, Alan Shearer, Kieth Gillespie, Steve McFadden, Andrew Niel) Class 4: Low-rent celebrities whose fame derives from short careers, or careers made up of bit-part work popping up here and there. (Some examples being reality show contestants, members of one hit wonder bands etc) Class 5: Dying people whose sole claim to fame to derives from the fact they have been unwell or dying. I would take extreme issue with only political figures being considered for Class 1 status, but it's your system and you've presented it well. So I applaud that which makes me twitch nonetheless. Would be surprised if this hasn't been posted somewhere, so please excuse duplication if it exists. Wiki page dedicated to 'death by selfie'. SC

I randomly chose me a cancer mum to put on my Shadow List -- Aimee Willett. Seeing as Shameless (gcreptile) has hit with two others, I am verklempt over having randomly chosen the wrong one. SC

Eddie Einhorn, the broadcasting executive who brought college basketball to the masses (he was an architect behind March Madness NCAA tourney)— and who made his mark in baseball as co-owner of the Chicago White Sox — died Wednesday. He was 80 and lived in Alpine. The cause was complications from a stroke. SC

A review of U.K. deaths by cattle; interesting in that the conclusion/finding is that 2/3 of said deaths involved people with dogs! Leave your mutt at home if you're going to play with the cows. SC

St. Bonaventure University President Sister Margaret Carney says she received a diagnosis of cancer days after announcing her decision to retire. The 74-year-old said in January that she will leave her position at the western New York university on July 31. She’s been at the Franciscan college for 20 years and has been president for the last 12. Carney says that she’s started drug therapy for multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. SC

This explains her longevity. I should start practicing these techniques. SC Edit: For the record, I'd hit this...

Sounds like something an antagonist in a horror flick says to some monster they're controlling, named Otis of course, as in 'Otis, you want a treat?" and then Otis is shown some people he can kill and eat or summat. Some shit movie like The Brain That Wouldn't Die or that ilk. SC EDIT: Interesting, I found a team by that name playing at THIS (previously unknown to me) death pool. -
Yeah, I doubt it. Nice spelling. He's not on any of my numerous DP lists this year, that's all the respect I'm giving. SC

I think Barbara looks great in this photo. WTH you people talking about? GWB otoh.... oy vey. Old people breaking bones (esp hips) is the death knell, I don't care if you're a President or a vagrant. He does look to be in his last year of life. If he survives 2016 he has to be a top 5 pick 2017. Speaking of which, how the hell is that Cardinal that broke his leg a second time at the Vatican still alive? He was 93 I think. Has an aura about him... SC
