One sad thing about being an old man with a young child is that my daughter's grandparents were all in the ground before she was born, save for my mother who died this January. So she got to meet one granny and only for a little over 4 years. Now there are none. Seems wrong, that. SC

I met my Great Grandfather who was 88 when he died (I was like 3), but never my grandfather who was dead 3 years before I was born. Like him, my father drank himself to death in his forties. So my being 52, I'm the first male to make it past 50 in three generations. A member of Kuwaits national assembly has passed away on Tuesday after suddenly fainting while parliament was in session.
