The Fringes Of Fame/family Of The Famous
Sir Creep replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList Forum
If you prefer I don't post these when I see them just let me know; I'm not happy to read them or post them but it's a matter of completeness I guess. I mean I saw the headline what am I supposed to do? "Can't have a skunk run through a jury box and ask them not to smell it.". Four month old son of New England Patriots player Nate Solder has kidney cancer. Ricardo Groenewald, who sang the hit track I Love You Daddy passed away on Wednesday night at the age of 43. Groenewald was only 8-years-old when he rocked the music industry in 1989 and performed alongside Stevie Wonder on the Children Of The World Tour. Foreign Personalities, From Stage, Screen, Politics And Life
Sir Creep replied to Davey Jones' Locker's topic in DeathList Forum
The 'politics' portion of this thread is totally ignored what with most entries going into Political Frailty. We shall cure that. Rajya Sabha was on Thursday adjourned for the day as a mark of respect to sitting member MP Khekiho Zhimomi of Nagaland People’s Front, who died here this morning. When the House met on the opening day of the winter session, Chairman Hamid Ansari mentioned the passing away of 69-year old Zhimomi. Add him. It's not your job to be his physician and a local reporter.

Who cares? He's 'deadable'. You folks really have issues putting carts in front of horses. I'll take 12 deaths and 4 of them don't obit vs your 6 folks that guarantee obits. You know who won't obit? LIVING PEOPLE!SC

Which was number 1 on the day I was born. S'funny that. I was having Facebook banter with a mate who is a musician and rates punk/new wave 70s as the driving force of all things good in the world. The gist of said conversation being our mutual horror when you actually look back at the depressing tonnage of utter shite - Brotherhood of Man, Pussycat, JJ Barrie, Bacarra etc. etc. - that made #1 whilst the Pistols, Clash and their ilk were revving up to change the world. Interesting also that you bring up JJ Barrie who I just was considering for a theme team. SC

That sux cuz I don't care much for current rap but I do like the gall of Lil Boosie. A mere diagnosis of kidney cancer short of stage 4 blah blah isn't any reason to put someone on your 2016 team but go right ahead it'll help me pull ahead. SC

So, How's Your 2016 Shortlist Looking?
Sir Creep replied to Spade_Cooley's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
It was a thread killing list by the looks of it! I have a long held tradition, however. Note everyone with nasty cancer/other health problems down in a notepad, then look at it in December... then utterly choke, and ignore all of it for half insane hunches. This works as well as you can imagine. I hear ya. I know one thing I learned from 2015: Trust no one in a coma, they can still fuck you over. Apart from Bianchi not a single comatose person (Singh, Abdulsalamov) came through, and frankly no reason to do me like that. "Back at home recuperating" as you see a photo of some wheelchair-bound zygote staring into space. In the words of George Bush 42: Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice.....won't get fooled again. SC PS: not a thread killing list at all. I've made notes both physical and mental about many on that list and maybe 15% I needed to look up. Most I wouldn't include but most are arguably decent picks. What astounded me yesterday after finally looking at y'all teams in DDP, so many simply mirror half or more of the DeathList it makes me wonder if anyone does research. As you saw in Shaun's pool, I had all of FOUR DL folks in my 50 names. FOUR! And I'm doing well tyvm, including 1 DL name. I've thrown together a list of names on some paper and I don't think I have more than 3 DL 50 names for next year. I've found WAY too many people actually knowingly going to cark it. Doesn't everyone else? I got mad respect for this list he's provided, and again I prolly got 15 he didn't mention. SC -
I posted it but it's gone. Photo and all. I'm kinda confused by it. SC post it again then LOL I actually almost did that instead. I would I had. SC Edit: I was going to cut/paste the same post I posted here and pasted into my DP, but the post on my DP is as absent as this one is. I was on a public computer at the library at the time, mind. Very odd. SC

The University of North Carolina confirmed the death of one of its greatest former football players Tuesday. Quincy Monk, who had 247 tackles and four sacks for the Tar Heels before being drafted in 2002 by the New York Giants, died at 36 years old. Monk died after a battle with adenocarcinoma, a form of cancer. SC http://www.upi.com/Sports_News/NFL/2015/11/24/Former-New-York-Giants-linebacker-Quincy-Monk-dead-at-36/9971448418729/?spt=slh∨=5 -
Stupid/funny/cool/outrageous/scary/weird/crazy Stuff You Read/saw In The News/on The Internet
Sir Creep replied to Dr. Zorders's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I have lived in BC my entire life and I had no idea this even existed. All I could find is that you must have ID and/or immigration papers on you at all times. So is this unique in your experience of U.S. and Canadian border etiquette? There are warning signs between Delta and Point Roberts. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@49.0022042,-123.0396553,3a,90y,187.44h,78.7t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sgP16S7-HiJ_jU6JsBnUKCQ!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo0.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3DgP16S7-HiJ_jU6JsBnUKCQ%26output%3Dthumbnail%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26thumb%3D2%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D68.412216%26pitch%3D0!7i13312!8i6656 https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@49.0021955,-123.0887567,3a,90y,180.06h,77.76t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sgKVLQf_CGtwfMbDY5ZAtog!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 As a Detroiter, we lived across the bridge and/or tunnel from Canada and what with drinking age being 19 vs 21 and fully nude dancers and our dollars worth 1.4 loonies and they with far better beer and smokes, well it was heaven for a 19-20 year old Yank, and we went often. All my life the only thing you had to do was show a driver's license at the country of entry and answer how many were in the car, your purpose for coming, and how long you'd be. About 6 months after 9-11 they instituted that you HAD to have a passport to cross. Well that's $100 and so far fewer folks went. I happen to have one but my daughter doesn't and now thanks to these fucked up overzealous laws I can't let her stand in another country for a lousy hour and brag to her friends in Louisiana years from now. So yes if their REALLY being assholes now and saying keep papers on you at all times like its some border with Syria or something, then it's totally new and outrageous. Driver's license should suffice. SirC
