Sandra Spuzich, the 1966 U.S. Women's Open champion who won six other LPGA Tour titles, has died. She was 78. SC http://www.pga.com/news/lpga-tour/sandra-spuzich-winner-1966-us-womens-open-dies-78 Edit looks like Jim Nance was right: "Spuzich is survived by her longtime partner, former LPGA Tour player Joyce Kazmierski."

The University of Texas says its longhorn steer mascot has died after recently being diagnosed with cancer. Bevo XIV died Friday in his sleep at the ranch where he lived. He had been retired last week after his diagnosis. The school said a search for Bevo XV will begin immediately.... I'm wondering who is on that steering committee! I say here here of course none of these folks are DP/DL worthy for the reason stated. But this piggybacks on my Lauren Hill post a couple days ago. SC

You mean to say that what NE prints is always true, I see. I think most people see NE as taking a basic story - Dolly Parton goes to hospital - and extrapolates it with innuendo and 2+2=5 logic to spin an exciting story - Dolly Parton dying of stomach cancer. I am hoping that most people recognise this. However if they can get a celebrity to rise to the bait and make a statement about their health denying the rumour that then gets carried in the main stream media then this can be considered to be a win. Would the public assume DP has cancer just because NE said so but now she has denied it people start thinking "Is she OK?/Should I pick her for my DDP team in 2016?" Actually I hope all y'all think that way. SC

Was so looking forward to throwing a team together for 2016 but I see Lauren Hill was allowed on teams this year. That saddens me. Are you at all considering a Lauren Hill Rule to combat the entry of names for people who are famous solely for those illness, or has that been asked and answered already (apologies if so). Maybe us Yanks are a more cantankerous lot, but I'd have been up in arms over her inclusion. We had a guy in my DP put her name I told him that wasn't acceptable and only one person out of 16 came to his defense. 14 others said 'get that shit outta here', but then again we have the rule in place I'm asking about above. Depending, DDT, you may have just won me a DP on this DougStanhope bullshit site. They have 24 hours to approve his celebrity statusJust to update, sadly I will not get to use Mr Reddy to win my league DDT. "reaper@dscdp.com You wanted to know, so here you go... The request to add Reddy to our celebrity list has been denied. Here's why... Not enough celebrity status.. Good Mourning, Stanhope www.DougStanhopesCelebrityDeathPool.com."
