Cross-posting news of the death of Jim McManus, who played Aberforth Dumbledore (credited as Barman) in The Order of the Phoenix.

The new Equity magazine appears to be out, however not on the Equity website as yet. Anyway, Hadoke reports the deaths of Jim McManus (IMDB) and Richard Kane, both of whom are only mentioned here. Derek Smith mentioned the Detective thread as dead also appears to be confirmed dead:

Death Notice for Enid Rosamond Dundas (nee Lawrence), widow of RAF fighter pilot and former Chairman of Thames Television Sir Hugh Dundas, aged 98: http://announcements.telegraph.co.uk/deaths/264309/dundas Hugh Dundas died in 1995! But more than that, Enid was also the daughter of Geoffrey Lawrence, 3rd Baron Trevethin, 1st Baron Oaksey who was the president of the judges at the Nuremberg Trials, and therefore also the sister of the well known jockey, TV commentator and horse racing journalist John Lawrence, 4th Baron Trevethin, 2nd Baron Oaksey, also known generally as Lord Oaksey. Quite the lineage. In full: DUNDAS Enid Rosamond (Robby), The Hon Lady Dundas, peacefully at home on 22nd May. I haven't seen any part of This Morning for donkey's years. I have however been in the unenviable position of catching the odd snippet of the show on Gogglebox. From an objective distance, it looks like the end of this sewer of daytime television is nearing its outflow. It wouldn't surprise me if they cancelled the whole damn thing in the near future. Dermot O'Leary should leg it before the whole thing goes down. The rest of them should be thrown on the dung heap of presenters - the Jeremy Kyle Pile, if you will.

Gary Kent, producer, actor and stuntman who was the inspiration for Brad Pitt's character in One Upon A Time In Hollywood, reportedly dead: Doubled for Jack Nicholson in numerous films. Performed stunts for among others Daniel Boone, so another death instantly related to the report of Ed Ames death. Had a minor role in Freebie And The Bean! IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0448743/

This has been reported as the funeral details for Alan Hatchman, a dresser who worked for the BBC and reportedly worked uncredited on Vengeance on Varos And Timelash for Doctor Who, so uncredited he doesn't get a mention on IMDB for it, only The Crystal Maze: https://lodge.afuneralnotice.com/n/d8a0159f https://tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Alan_Hatchman

Marion Stoner, an Australian model and the first wife of Alexander Montagu, 13th Duke of Manchester, has reportedly died of inoperable cancer: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12125629/EDEN-CONFIDENTIAL-Farewell-glamorous-Duchess-Manchester-attacked-speargun.html Bit of a story - a very short lived relationship when it was found that the said Duke had fired a speargun at her. Then he went and married his second wife - three years before he divorced Marion, thus he became a bigamist. He was later jailed for burglary and making a false police report as recently as 2017. He's packed three marriages and all of the above in just 60 years.

Interesting. While I've had many crossover hits on my Deathlist Prediction Team and am currently tied with the Committee on hits, all my hits there are in the top half of my counter-list. So while I've scored badly in the Prediction competition, my team is a better predictor. I'll probably live to regret this post by year's end, mind.

Good time to start this thread just after Tina Turner's death. Who can forget Tina's stirring call to vote for the MP's who would take their seats in the Parliament on the River Thames? Polling Polling Polling on the river...

Karen Lumley now being reported as having died: I'll have to check whether there's a DDP hit to be had. Edit: Cannot see she was ever picked. https://redditchstandard.co.uk/news/former-mp-karen-lumley-has-died/

Peter Oliphant, best known as Freddie Helper in The Dick Van Dyke Show, and mentioned here I assume for Mr Hobbs Takes A Vacation, child actor turned video game designer (Mr Cool for the Atari for example), reportedly dead: IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0646477/

It's his birthday. No better reason. (Hit revealed tomorrow that he dies tonight for a huge party pooper bonus for my team).

I don't often take part in these. Anyhow, the votes of the YoungWillz Jury go to....... Stanley Baxter.

Interestingly (to me at least) Belafonte, Harris and Tina Turner were all picks for my 2021 TOTP theme team. That means there has been quite the slaughter of my 2018 and 2021 TOTP teams this year already. And I don't think 2023 is quite finished with them yet.
-
Apparently so...?
-
Anyone pick today if that is indeed Tina Turner's death date?
-
Well, my annual hit for my TOTP theme team continues. A total queen of longevity comes to her rest, and RIP and thanks for the hit. (something I bet she never said to Ike!) Anyway, 1987 was a lean year for Tina, but thanks to her scraping a #30 hit in the UK with What You Get Is What You See, she made my team.
