One week warning. Probably won't do any more reminders. Remember, the beauty of this game is that if you lose a pick, your subs move up and you get to pick an additional sub, all the way to closing time. So if you are being reticent about that, don't be. If you are hanging on for "soon to be dead" news this week, that's sheer opportunism which, in a gambling game, can only be encouraged! If you are waiting on a tip from CCHQ to get yourself down to Ladbrokes, is there anything left to bet on?

Ah, but I'm doing that deal half price remember. I think the existing proposal might be slightly different. Also, if she is sucking off Churchill we could entitle the work "Vera Gives Goebbels".

Haven't had a drink since the wedding last Sunday. Just furious. How is that amount of money a part-payment anyway? Are the sculptors Sunak, Gove and Cleverly Associates? Is Michelle Mone designing the undergarments? Anyway, they aren't going to win, but the fact they said this out loud is astonishing.

James K Irving QO: https://uk.news.yahoo.com/james-k-irving-dead-96-225141584.html

Tell you what, for half the price I'll commission a mechanical statue of Dame Vera where she sucks off Winston Churchill and fists Adolf Hitler, and for the other half of the money she can have a fly past of the Red Arrows once every three months for a year while playing her greatest hits albums through a loudspeaker in her arse.

If the Tories win the election, they have promised ONE MILLION QUID of TAXPAYERS' MONEY to complete the sculpture. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13556907/Campaign-fund-statue-honouring-Dame-Vera-Lynn-receive-1-million-boost-Conservatives-win-power.html They have been spaffing our money into their own pockets, those of their friends and giving donations to fraudsters. Now this? If anything, this should lose them more votes.

Yes, my thoughts with you Clorox. It's awful when hearing of a death some time after the event. A young ex-work colleague of mine died after I left the business and didn't hear about it for ages. Somehow it makes you dwell a little longer on it rather than when you hear straight away, because there is the obvious trajectory of what happens in the immediate aftermath. She sounds like many people who I have known through the years whose light in your life burns out all too quickly. To know that you and others took time to remember in your own way is lovely and she will always be a part of you somewhere. My sincerest condolences.

Given she can't pronounce her "G"s, getting an endorsement from a George is quite an achievement. Priti vacant.

Yeah, I don't subscribe to YouTube, so I'm not signing in. Simple as that. I like free stuff. Cost of living and all that.
-
Well, I can't see that one.
-
@Philheybrookbay1 I've gone for the self-pitying viewpoint of Sunak, you have gone for viewpoint of the electorate.
-
I've already picked out Sunak's departure theme tune. It's most apt.

Sumo wrestler and actor Taylor Wily reportedly dead: He participated in the first ever televised match for UFC. Memorable cameos in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Magnum, PI, but better known as Kamekona in the reboot of Hawaii Five-0. IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1711334/

Question Time was a rat's nest. Davey and Swinney can essentially be disregarded here. Both have their pasts, both seem to have moved on, whether you like their policies or not. (As a side note, I think Davey was the best performer, though I'd like to have heard how their hodge podge of ideas actually is and translates to a caring tolerant society that will be there from cradle to grave - that's their policy, it's a broken message that isn't clear). Starmer really has to answer questions directly. He can, I know he can, but he wants to move on to territory where he feels comfortable. He looks evasive and untrustworthy, and frightened of saying anything that may lose him votes. Sunak is the consistent cockwomble. Slipping out that refusing to do his voluntary compulsory National Service may result in banking issues or losing your driving licence was a major slip up. He will cut your taxes. Oh great, nothing except fiddling about with the mess of broken Britain while taking less in revenue seems a recipe for more shite on the top of the dogshite we live with now. If anyone was accused of breaking the law, they would be suspended from their job. His refusal to suspend his candidates accused of gambling offences means in practice that he can well boot them out of the party if they are found guilty, but they can be elected and sit there for five fucking years as independents. I'm not sure Parliament would have the right to investigate their wrongdoing prior to being elected. Unenviable selection of rogues. Maybe Binface isn't such a bad choice after all.

Donald Sutherland QO: https://www.theguardian.com/film/article/2024/jun/20/actor-donald-sutherland-dies-hunger-games-dont-look-now For what it is worth, ha!
-
Yeah, well, that's not how I started it. As I say, enjoy all the side hustles of which the game is actually a side hustle. All a bit of fun, and a damn long night for me.

Aww. One of my favourite actors, almost always a pleasure to see (except Don't Look Now - unwatchable movie imo). RIP.

I really really hope this isn't AI, but it's fun to listen to:

Loving Slovenia's knee length shorts. That is all.

Anyone else want to enter the game? This is your "there's a fortnight to go" warning. Also, this should be like shooting fish in a barrel.
-
Where the fuck is he? No interviews, no appearances, nothing today. Maybe the interview outside Ladbrokes in Richmond High Street was cancelled today...
-
Image of Laura Saunders from November 2023, the Tory accused of cheating by gambling on the election date. The signs were there as I am sure that's the gravy train arriving at the station.

Not content with taking money from a racist, another of Sunak's donors comes under fire: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4nn6yjpnplo Hmm. What was that about about professionalism and integrity, Sunak?
