My point is not to denigrate your well made points. My point is that the British media seems to have a high bar when reporting UK deaths but a pretty low one when it comes to American personalities, especially particular forms of music. Hey, I guess it is easy from a distance to appreciate the talents of someone, especially in the US where the papers praise and laud their own to the high heavens. Much more difficult to appreciate the talents of someone in the UK the press build up and then try to dig the dirt on for the rest of their career.
