Merrick Hughes is a producer, not a plumber. Terry Lee is the plumber. Kevin was the bassist on Kings Of The Wild Frontier. Lasted less than a year. Just as they got famous, off he went, thus allowing Gary Tibbs the glory years.

As I was trawling through 1980 possibilities, he stood out as a guaranteed obit principally because he wrote that song. I think only Adam Ant, Pirroni and Hughes would obit widely.(no offence to Terry Lee and Tibbs).

Going to see bands was never my thing. Only been to three in my life. Bronski Beat (original incarnation) circa 1984; Natalie Imbruglia at Barrowlands - only went to accompany my brother, but worth it to see her getting chibbed by a thrown water bottle; and Madness at the SECC - Christmas show that went on for hours. I'd love to see Green Day live, but no ambition beyond that.

I'm optimistic that only one of my three teams look like finishing bottom this year. Dang you to hell medical science (Parfitt and Van Day).
