In passing, I'd like to say... Shane Ferguson will be on the telly again for Northern Ireland. I may be gone some time...

Goodness, we didn't even do that to Jim Murphy!

Aaron Ramsay to score twice and push Nobby Stiles and Gordon Banks over the edge. Maybe....

Well, as some of you know I now have a theme team Hits of 36 Years Ago and Hits Today, i.e. 1980 Top Thirty UK chart singles. So I have obviously been researching 1981 for next year - I already have a full list of survivors (excluding session musicians/backing singers) who formally appeared on those singles. Now Culture Club didn't start releasing singles until 1982. But I have discovered that Boy George appeared on Top Of The Pops on 26 November 1981 as a crowd dancer. And just for those who can access it in the next fortnight or so, that episode is on BBC iPlayer here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b07dxty1/top-of-the-pops-26111981. Enjoy!!!

Maj Axelsson died on May 31st. Picked on the DDP by Breathless In Seattle, but no sign of an appropriate obit. I saw that reported a while ago, but as I couldn't find anything at the time I put it down to Twitter chatter. Never followed it up.

Surely the nominations are not secure until the Conventions? Jus' sayin' like. -

Douglas Hurd retired from the Lords on 9 June: http://www.parliament.uk/mps-lords-and-offices/lords/retired-lords/ -
You'll notice he is on my Cancel My Appointments team! He was actually my 20th selection, as I took it upon Joe Cocker's late 2014 passing that his guitar player would come join him in a synchronistic effort. At least that was my basis. Sir C Apparently and reportedly by his agent Henry McCullough has passed away: http://theafterword.co.uk/rip-henry-mccullough/ Awaiting the usual confirmations. Well that's a surprising turn of events. RIP Mr McCullough.SC Edit: UGH yet another name on my Shadow List (17th hit) that didn't make it to my DDP team (8 hits). In fact I now have more names off my DDP (9) than on it. Bad guessing....I guess. Saw BP "Beep" Fallon telling Facebook about it a few minutes back. Will prove obitable for anyone who has him His BBC Obit is non-qualifying: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-36528378 But a qualifying one will come.

Ooh a pop quiz! I don't recognise any of the descriptions. Mind you, I was having loads of sex round about late 80s/early90s, so probably not paying attention to much else.

Pay per view? It's what he'd want. I keep thinking of the Italian version of Brucie surrounded by glamourpuss nurses; "Imma such a lucky Jack, Ever since my heart attack, And now inna uniforms so revealing, Ok dollies, do your healing!" Hang on I used a version that in the Brucie thread the other day. I presume you are recycling because it didn't get the appropriate level of appreciation the first time. Really? I didn't see that one, honestly...*rushes off to Brucie thread* Edit: Ah...well, like any catchphrase it's worth recycling!

Congrats BiblioG. Bet my pick dies in December. Not sure which year though.
