I bet it was a heart attack and he got stuck in the elevator so no one could have seen him and save him.....guess Grim has a bad sense for humor.

No no, "Kanye West. A genius and legend of music, fashion and film dies after wife holds fart too long and falls asleep next to his head. "

October-December depression suicide. Good thing I got him on the Shadow list. Hmm, presumtious IMHO - it's the ones that don't talk who end up under trains. Aye, because it's not so much bottled up or something. He's married to a psychologist too. Unfortunately, its Pamela Stephenson, but they seem to get on! One moment of loneliness is enough to do it. Robin was alone with his belt. If we follow the January pattern, Connolly could be "the actor" who dies 4 days after "the musician". But if he's got Parkinson's, she can drill his brain and she still won't be able to help.

He'll be called a music genius when he drops. You know it.

Queen Elizabeth II , Prince Philip, Fidel Castro , George Bush Sr,Jimmy Carter ,Desmond Tutu ,Stephen Hawking ,Muhammad Ali, Billy Graham,Clint Eastwood , Pope Benedict , Pope Francis , Mikhail Gorbachev , Sean Connery ,Roger Moore are some possible contenders in terms of worldwide fame, reognition and age. Only those darkened. Hardly that Benedict, Moore or Gorbachev would be bigger then Bowie. We'll have to wait for 2020 to judge. Pope Benedict will get a hell of a load of coverage worldwide as the Pope is a massive world figure that few people in the world will not know. The fact he retired will make it less significant but it will still be huge.Gorbachev similarly is a massive figure in world politics so the output of coverage will be huge.Moore will get a lot of coverage and is known the world over but he will maybe not get as much coverage as Bowie I conceed. In UK terms the biggest two would be the Queen or Prince Phillip. That is guaranteed newsflash territory even in this day and age. They would get a treatment like Thatcher had. News but not breaking like Prince or Bowie. Queen on the other hand would be bigger than Ben. But both would get live funeral. Jackson type of a thing.

Could be an accident. If his hip hurts he's probably heavy on pills. If he took too much it does kinda look like flu. I accidentally overdosed on painkillers last weekend because I had a bad neck pain/toothache and it was exactly like a flu. A bad flu.... He was*.

If you don't mind me saying so, I am really surprised that someone from a former Communist state would think that Bowie's death would be more significant than Gorbachev's. I was born in 93. Yougoslavia died in 91. They don't teach us in school that Tito is an eternal leader, god king and so...we barely even mention him. His streets are being renamed and everyone is trying to forget last century. Gorbachev means nothing to me and my parents thought he's dead for years now.

Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Iggy Pop are all contenders. And BTW, why does everybody think Bowie is the biggest death of the decade? He's probably tied with Amy Winehouse. However, Whitney Houston was definitely the biggest of the decade so far. I'll probably make a poll on January 1, 2020. But now that I said the idea, somebody's going to do it today even though new contenders could be added. Biggest of the decade so far I would say are: 1)Neil Armstrong 2)Osama Bin Laden 3)Nelson Mandela 4)Margaret Thatcher 5)David Bowie 6)Amy Winehouse 7)Prince 8)Whitney Housten 9)Robin Williams 10)Kim Jong Il I have to disagree with some of these. Thatcher for instance. She is important but hardly in top 10. Kim, Bin Laden and Armstrong also important but not that much. Keep in mind that this is the view of a non British person.

If, as widely hypothesised, he had AIDS, then lots of things (including flu) could kill him because his immune system was destroyed. Yeah. First thing that popped up on my mind. Maybe his kidneys failed. We'll have to wait.....

Nah. Not until 60's. But I would keep an eye on Jagger.

Leo no, Charles yes and Juliette yes. Thank you. Okay. At 103, Leo's likely to be the next to drop though! Not famous enough according to Wiki I accidentally removed the poll. This is just a thread now because I can't add it again....

So, what did he die of? If not AIDS, heart attack or flu, then what? I wouldn't be surprised if it was an AIDS thing but as my first post in this thread says, he always looked frail.
-
He would be notable. But not shocking. Not a Prince and Bowie like reaction. Maybe a few on the list would also be just notable.
-
Well I'm sorry, but I never liked Prince, and I won't be rushing out to buy his music now. He wrote a few brilliant songs, but they were much better performed by other people IMO. I didn't like his whiny voice and I found him so physically repulsive that his overtly sexual lyrics were nauseating. Napoleon complex through music. He was obviously gay and a queen wanna be tied with Freddie. I won't rush for his music either but the legend title is guaranteed as is for every ex idol when they die young. Even Boy George would be called a legend and there would be murals of him all over the place if he was a roadkill....

Whitney, Amy, Bowie and Prince were all superstars and by my opinion all tied. Only Madonna could be the death of this decade. I don't think that even Elton or George Michael could go over the four mentioned.
-
We all agree that when a superstar like Prince dies, we start to love them. Although I love his older music, now that he's on the metal table I kinda feel sorry for him. But, that's life. He lived it to the fullest. He's a legend now. Long live Prince. I agree with few of you, George Michael is next.

I'm scared to ask if there could be a bigger one.

So....who gets 2016? Well, for now.
