If DL 2016 fails, scoring less than 10 deaths, the committe has to consider some changes for next year.... This year they really risk a 2011-like failure and I will be not surprised if that actually happens.

Towards the beginning of December - a thread will be posted asking "Who should be on the 2017 Deathlist?". The committee may or may not pay attention to it, but I'm pretty certain celebrities mentioned in that thread have been included in years past. Pearl Washington died today. I remember someone saying he was not going to see 2017. Patricio Aylwin died yesterday aged 98 and he was in a horrible condition ever in december. Deathlist refused to pick them (maybe Washington is not so famous, yes) or Howard Marks to pick Lester Piggott, Murray Walker, Mary Tyler Moore, Glenn Campbell and none of them is gonna die this year.

Nah I reckon 2-3 years!I'd try when he turns 91 since that's the age his brother died. I don`t think that makes any difference.I mean siblings can die at different ages when they got old.Fidel has a long history of health problems and is one of the biggest global figures of the 20th century so his continued inclusion is a smart move in my view.I don`t think he looks that great in that video though.I mean he looks ok for someone his age but he looks worse than some on this list that are older such as Prince Philip, Jimmy Carter ,Henry Kissenger ,Stan Lee and Peter Carrington to name a few. On my personal secret deathlist I have McCain, Tovar, Youguang, Sarosy, Dorfles, Hardegen, italian composer Cecilia Seghizzi (b. 1908) and others. I scored 7 hits: Umberto Eco, George Kennedy, Martin Crowe, Joey Feek, Nancy Reagan, Hilary Putnam, Cliff Michelmore. Not so good considering I have 130 names on my list!

Forgive me, I will not continue because it's useless. I just want to say this list is awful and will go down as a major disappointment with 8-9 deaths. That's the way it is. People like Lester Piggott and Sandy Gall are completely random, plus age was considered more important than cancer. I hope it makes at least 12 deaths but I honestly think it won't. The deaths of Vigoda and BBG were pure luck (BBG broke his hip); Crowe was the only one we knew was going to die. But sincerely Cruyff, Umberto Eco, Hilary Putnam and others, not so old but haunted by cancer, could have been considered for this list. You did a great work, though. It's not so easy to write a deathlist, even if everyone retains he is the best at it.

Former Italian President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi (b. 1920) is not in good health and he may die this year, while Giorgio Napolitano, former communist dictator, is very well and will reach 110 (evil guys don't die, you know). Radical politician Marco Pannella (b. 1930) is finally dying of cancer and I think former Prime Minister Arnaldo Forlani (b. 1925) is not so healthy as well. If Ciampi makes it to 2017 he would be a good choice for a sure death. The other men I cited are not enough famous to have their deaths announced in UK.
