I just realized that the opening of the submission period is much closer than I realized. Which means I probably need to make my list around Wednesday or Thursday for my submission to the list before it opens...

Could it be because his name is Azib rather than Azab?

Yes, though not in this thread so you’re fine...

So, How's Your 2019 Shortlist Looking?
Joey Russ replied to RadGuy's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
So while I was doing some research today for next year’s DDP, I noticed that someone who will probably be on many DDP teams next year is doing extremely well at the moment so I’ve given them less thought now. Will probably look them up again in December just in case their case gets worse though... -

Memphis Tiger’s basketball player and long lister Karim Sameh Azib has died aged 22. Would’ve been points galore had someone went for him next year... -
Pretty sure Ricketts is nowhere near as famous as Stan Lee was and therefore Ricketts’s account probably wasn’t run by other people...

Inconceivable!

I was gonna say, if I ended up in the lead due to that, I’d be amazed since I made my team by randomness tbh...

She’s not in the final stages of cancer yet. Although it is in stage 4, right now she’s still responding well to some cutting edge treatment that may allow to live a few years yet (not guaranteed of course, but should likely see out the year)...

LEE DISASSEMBLED 13/50 12th November 2018 Stan Lee, one of the most iconic and influential figures in the comic book world has sadly died to give the 2018 Crowdsource List another success. He first became an assistant to the very new Timely Comics division of pulp magazine back in 1939, which would slowly evolve into Atlas Comics and then into the now very well known Marvel Comics. Starting with the Fantastic Four in 1961, he collaborated with the likes of Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko on many iconic characters that are beloved today, among them Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the X-Men, which made Marvel become DC Comics most serious competitor. While he did quit writing monthly comics in 1972 in order to focus on being the publisher, his influence there was undeniable. In more recent years, he became the public face of Marvel comics and became an icon to a new generation by making a cameo appearance on nearly every Marvel film since 2000. It hasn't been great for him recently, as last year he lost his wife of nearly 70 years, and this year he had to deal with a bout of pneumonia as well as multiple lawsuits against him. It definitely took a toll on him, as another medical emergency took his life aged 95. He was making his first appearance on the list, going all the way to spot #34. *Technically I don't take over until the beginning of next year, but msc gave me permission to write up this one as a way to test the waters on writing obituaries for future hits.

Not too surprising considering how rough his year was (and I had a strong feeling that he would die this year), but definitely a sad loss.
