Jellie, who in 2018 won a vote to be 'the ninth cat' added to Minecraft, has died.

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark

Excellent, not wasting millions of pounds (or Krones) on an unnecessary ceremony, that at the end of the day means nothing and could just be done with out all the pomp and circumstance with the money can go to much better causes in the country. -
I hate all of you.

Political Discussions And Ranting Thread
Commtech Sio Bibble replied to Deathray's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
This isn't necessarily political but as a nation the UK needs to get over shops closing early on a Sunday, I've just wasted half an hour walking in the cold and dark to get some cheese because the day of the week wasn't at the forefront of my mind. Less than half the country claim to be Christian, a lot less are practising Christians and I'd bet less that 1% still see Sunday as simply 'the lord's day'. The idea is simply outdated. -
I genuinely hate this thread, full of idiots who have nothing of worth while to say* and every time anyone suggests that Carter's death may not be imminent they get flooded with negative reactions from that mango cretin. *(I'll include myself in that before anyone jumps in)

Seen Any Good Films Lately?

I watched Saltburn and was incredibly uncomfortable for a lot of it, but would watch it again. 8/10 -
I could never sort by unread and be forced to see Diego notifying everyone that a Mongolian footballer from the 1960s is 87 today*. I just click on the 'Go to first unread post' button on threads I'm interested in and then return to the home page and mark everything as read. *EDIT: and the bloody Kill or Save games that clutter up the search function.

I'm sorry, but what is happening? This looks like some John Sulu shenanigans.

I noticed this a few days ago and just assumed that it was under maintenance for the New Year or something. It'll be a pain for wiki editors as it was one of the most common sites used for sourcing the birth and death dates of actors, and I know on Wikipedia it was occasionally linked at the bottom of an article like IMDb is.

Ted Turner, because it isn't gonna be Carter so I took a punt.

Whilst I agree Biden is probably not suitable for a second term, this is not his fault. Biden was kept in the dark, just like the public. It is Austin and his team who's fault it is.

I have PM'ed a list, I had completely forgotten about this until I saw a picture of Shinzo Abe and remembered how shocking his death was in 2022.

Was Derek Draper An Acceptable Choice?

If you are a license fee payer go to BBC iPlayer and watch BBC News at One from today and go to about 9 and a half minutes in and just watch, he was a part of founding 'New Labour' and was involved in two lobbying scandals before catching COVID. Here's a link to make it even easier for you. -
'Out of the Blue' is possibly the last way I'd describe the death of wheelchair using, shingles ridden, can't remember her own name, decrepit Dianne Feinstein.

In the UK a lot of 'major' soap star's deaths seem to fall under the radar for a while. Neville Buswell went unnoticed for a month, Ernst Walder went unnoticed for close to a year and Andy Devine went unnoticed for 6 months and there's at least one more recently who's name I can't remember off the top of my head. Whilst non of those had international fame within the UK, Corrie and Emmerdale are massive and Devine and Buswell both played big characters and Walder was one of the original cast members of Corrie and was in a relationship with the soap's creator at some point. Edit: The one whose name I couldn't remember was Paula Tilbrook.

For all those who said he wasn't famous enough, not only he receive a breaking news notification from the BBC but his death was the second 'headline' story on the 1 o'clock BBC News where he received a video obituary that focused on his political career and not his wife.

Worst pick of 2024 Deathlist?
Commtech Sio Bibble replied to morrisey's topic in DeathList Forum
Told you he'd get a breaking news notification. -
The big difference with Kelly and Derbyshire is connections, Kelly played and more minor character who left Eastenders over 20 years ago whereas Derbyshire played one of the biggest characters on Corrie and hasn't even been gone a decade. Eileen Derbyshire is never going die unnoticed, old colleagues like Charlie Lawson will be on twitter paying respects within hours of finding out.
-
Kelly could already be dead and with a common name it'd be harder to find out. Yarrow dying otr has never even crossed my mind because his involvement in Doctor Who means the show's Grimreaper (Toby Hadoke) would never let his death go unannounced.
-
Probably because most deaths fall into either the Hollywood thread or the voice actors thread or even the British Character Actor thread or cartoonists/animators.
-
I'll tell you what it's taking a suprisingly long time for UK news to pick up on it, apart from the Washington Post the only places reporting it are local US branches of Fox, ABC etc..
-
Well.... I think they did the right thing choosing Johns over Marie Saint.

RIP, just managed to sneak herself on to the list.
