With his passing, I think that's it for anyone involved in wrestling over the age of 90 who could feasibly get a traditional QO. Former World Class commentator Bill Mercer might get one via the Yahoo loophole, but other than that you're going to have to go down to 89-year-old Gene LeBell for someone who will get a trad QO.

    (Wiki) Gene LeBell dead

Some gem from my Cup research, former CEO and billionaire Robert Brockmann, supposedly in home hospice for dementia:

Problem is, he's under investigation for being the biggest private tax cheater in US history. So it's difficult to tell how ill he really is.

Robert Brockman dead. Must have been pretty ill!

  3. Luckily we, as noted above, have a very long time before the next round starts! Plenty of time to gather feedback

I'm interested in which show accumulates the highest # of misses. Anyone who died after the official game start will be added to the tally.

Suggest, to get over a possible loophole, that we ban Match of the Day/Monday Night Football-type picks for the next round, lest anyone decides "any sportsman ever" is a valid option.

Good point! I will also need to add Talk Shows as that is a major loophole. Imagine someone says The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson for an endless amount of names. Wouldn't really be fair would it? Luckily, no one went that route or the sports shows.

  5. Submissions closed! We ended with 27 teams in total. Thanks for the support everyone.

Please double check my list for any issues with your submission (spelling or birth date especially).

I will be keeping a running count, best I can, of any misses from the shows picked.

Best of luck! Let the game begin

At least you finally figured it out. It's Trump's party!

Not so fast, he started the fire....doesn't mean he is in control of it anymore.

Neither Biden nor Trump will be the nominees in 2024, they don't control either of their parties.

Hypothetically, if someone sends in a team at 5 minutes to 6 CST, which is a duplicate of one already submitted, but the original entrant is in Europe and already in bed and therefore didn't find out about it until they get up the following day, what would happen? (As the deadline has passed?)

The cut-off is for new people + entries primarily. If there are any duplicates, or issues with the shows/cast selected, that can be resolved after the deadline with no issue. As long as you submitted a team before the starting gun, fair play.

My goal is to have a firm cut-off on participants, then spend the next 24 hours making sure everything/everyone followed the rules.

In summary, you folks across the pond are fine.

    Good question!

  8. Entries close August 5th at 6 pm CST (which is Midnight GMT).

That's a little more than 48 hours from now. We are sitting at 22 entries currently.

If you want in the pool, make sure to submit via PM. No telling how long till the next one!

Now she knows how it feels for a woman not to be in control of her own body...

    Oops. Too soon?

I had something similar! Beat me to it you rascal.

Nichelle Nichols should be on the list ASAP. If you haven't been following her health issues of late. She shouldn't have more than a year or two left.

Vin Scully is another very good pick. Not sure it will happen in 2022, but he won't make 100.

My 2 suggestions die within a few days of each other.....

She was ill, so that's natural causes.

Unnatural causes is murder, suicide, accident.

    That's true, I suppose I'm just being dramatic B)

Just my personal belief that this nasty business over her estate probably didn't help her health any, if not contribute to her downward spiral

    I don’t consider it a miss.
She wasn’t particularly I’ll or ancient.  I’d have much more likely been bitching she was ON the list.

She was extremely ill. Her dying of *natural causes* is a stretch.

I'm going to be that person. IMO this is the first genuine miss this year. It was well known she was on her last legs, very easy and notable person to pick.

I had Susie Steiner, but I'm not going to bother any more, there's no point.

Fair point. I had Nichelle Nichols, replaced with Rachel Robinson.

At this point treating it as my own personal list.

Both dead before the start (August 1st).

Makes it seem like this game may be a quick one!
