My bad, just posted this in deaths of 2024 because I didn't think to look here. More a presenter than journalist, though he'd found a recent niche in paranormal content where the dividing line between journalism and entertainment is non-existent.

Howard Hughes, velvet voiced broadcaster well known to those following paranormal content died a couple of days back

Indeed, very hard to call - but, Tyson's noticably heading towards that mid-paced monotone semi-mumble Ali had in his final fighting days. And, we're dead poolers hereabouts. If he wins, what chance there's a rematch with more than $15 million on offer for 59-year-old Tyson?
-
Aye well, the pre-match furore includes some predictable stuff about Tyson being vulnerable. Exhibition or not, we're dead poolers and a fighter way older than most and already - possibly - showing signs of speech and cognitive impairment will get in the ring at which point two guys who think they have something to prove will each try and inflict such damage on the other that his ability to perform basic motor functions is compromised to the point the referee deems him unfit to continue. Y'know, boxing!

4 foot 11 ins, so most of her opponents took a swing and totally missed when she ducked, then

58-year-old Mike Tyson's diction isn't what it was. He's due to get punched hard in the head again tomorrow. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/videos/cn0dk7pq45wo

Manson was a metaphorical prick tease on such stuff as are many nut job murderers once they're banged up, it's about the only thing they can do that gives them any sense of having power once they've had it all taken away. See also Levi Belfield on/off confessions to killing Lynn and Megan Russell

Manson admitted to more killings whilst in jail: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c20ng49373ro

He'd have been 100 early in the New Year, even people with a job that keeps them fit can't catch Jimmy Carter!

So, promo image for the new Van Zandt (as in surviving siblings of Skynyrd singer) single. Song is from an album's worth of tunes about God. For all the religious overtones I don't think I'm alone is perceiving an intimate glimpse of female anatomy with an unfeasibly large centre of pleasure, and thinking the message here to be one linking Christian faith and orgasm. Song's not half bad in a very old school stylee

West played comedy really well in this series, many of the jokes revolving around northern stereotypes (poverty, dourness, hard work for its own sake) - She's had more men than you've had hot dinners - That's not that many, then etc.etc.

Can't say I can find much either, my source was the 50th anniversary edition of Jeff Nuttall's book Bomb Culture - just a guess but this Philip Green faded and those assuming him dead are right, if he died before the world and his dog going online all the time it might well be there's no searchable evidence trail

Political Discussions And Ranting Thread

The three on the left don't amount to five years between them, Sunak calling the election just shy of five years before Bojo's arrival. Be interesting to know what, if anything of significance, they said to Truss! -
He's a lot less bankable currently and the rise of populism and - in particular - Trump is a mixed blessing. Serious film question being has he anything new to say? Because, if he hasn't, it's unlikely anyone would underwrite a reheating of the old stuff.

Could be vital dead pooling information in there, like the fact his meds have scrambled his brain or - more likely - he's inactive to the point he needs voice activated software to keep up the social media. Top 2025 talent, if that's the case

It's fast, it's furious it's f***in' good fun. Teams of 20 topplers posted on this thread or PM'd to MPFC will be collected into a masterlist to provide a carnival of carnage, the counting of which goes live in the first second of 2024. Points aplenty pour into the scoreboard until someone snags the stupendous total of 2024, at which point the event that used to be the fastest deadpool in common useage (until MPFC started something faster!) slams on the brakes and the lucky winner is duly given metaphorical back-slaps and allowed to claim a prize worth about a tenner (though tradition thus far dictates this turns into a charitable donation). Closing date for entries is midnight on 30 December 2023. Currently MC'ing the whole operation is an experienced public servant with a book to promote and an address book full of press contacts who didn't want to know when it came to printing extracts. We told her this would help, she told us Boris will be back in Number 10. The 49 teams in it to win it this year are... Yeah, the gist of it was Day was quizzing Nott about changes to the Royal Navy and the "here today, gone tomorrow" jibe was delivered in the context of asking why the public should believe a transient politician's opinion over that of a career long navy officer when it came to what was best for the seagoing service. BBC are playing it as part of their coverage of Nott's deeath.
-
When Robin Day described him as "here today and gone tomorrow" over 40 years ago he hadn't a fucking clue
-
Does anyone know if he paid for the shoes, or had them gifted?

A very positive speech. Just a guess, it was over half of what she'd have said had she won.

80 fucking six today, and still breathing - bordering on unbelievable, frankly

Dunno what it is, but something lately got me thinking about sixties legends with obscene levels of talent and a sideline in self-destruction and rampant shagging. You know, like PJ Proby. His web site is positive enough but it would have to be since his career has fallen so far he's basically a cottage industry now. The man is 67 and he's shifted some drink and other stimulants in his time. Anyone have an 'in' on his current health?
-
One thing that might help a blue wave in future is complete confusion over what might constitue Republicanism in a post-Trump Republican Party. Arguably he's shredded their beliefs beyond immediate repair. If his health fails it may be that his vision is his own family taking over and continuing with more of the same. Not something that played out for Mao, Stalin, or the most of those guys.
