Nearly there.

Hello Ray Must be a slow day if you have time to drop in and check on us!
-
By who? Dickie O? I think if it's down to him to 'act' on it we could probably contain the threat by sticking him in a paper bag and amusing ourselves as he tries to act his way out of it. Incidentally, the numbers of posts are now within spitting distance of those 'enjoyed' by the last pope. And the thread is still lively.

King Dickie, you unregistered ranter you, were you - like - really unpopular at school and prone to taking it out on the other kids by grassing them up to the teachers?

Just noticed Dave Thompson's Better to Burn Out: The Cult of Death in Rock n' Roll going second hand on Amazon with change from two quid. Highly recommended and currently fuelling the odd comment on the dead rock stars thread hereabouts. -
Oh Puh-lease!! Another unregistered sychophantic Dick-Head posts another variation on the uncritical assertion that the man is a genius simply because he was involved in providing several time-filling hours of amiable entertainment. Look around you man, there's wit, invention and intelligence in this most unique of threads. Then there's the likes of you!

I clicked on the Dickie O thread above, then my eyelids went droopy. Next thing I knew my other half was waking me up. Dull, dull, dull!
-
If we can't even kill off our own threads properly, what chance do we have spotting soon to die celebs? Incidentally, I think Socks is still alive. As a cat person, I'm happy for that.

Handy my friend, a class link, many thanks.
-
Technically speaking that should be 'moods' as he's a manic depressive!

Cos the bane of my life at on the school bus were fuckwits from the F*****t class who thought it funny and discussed it. Most of them ended up pushing prams by the time they were sixteen and - allegedly - spend their 2006 days scoffing crisps and watching daytime telly. My burning ambition to do something with my life dates from those school bus moments.

A woman walks into a bar and asks the bartender for a double entendre. So he gives her one! If there'd been one joke that good in Man About the House, I'd have watched more than a minute of it.

The posts are fast closing on the 725 currently boasted by the last pope. Our Rome correspondent reports strong disturbances in the vault caused by a spinning stiff.
-
He just got 'married' and looked dapper and dainty on the day. His virile young stallion is probably pumping him full of vitality as I type these words.
-
I think he's shite! End of. The first time I've enjoyed anything Dickie O related is on this thread.
-
Ah, another one-shot wonder tryin' to smoke us out. Do us all a favour eh? Try and vary the patter from the 'Dickie O' is great' line. We've taken you on and trashed you on that ground a few times already and much as it would add a few knotches to the thread, frankly, the regulars around here are better than that. Surely even you single celled organisms/Man About the House fans get tired rehashing the same old jokes....or maybe that was always the appeal with Dickie O.

Find them and punish them! On a separate note, got a press release about this book today. Written by patients in a hospice. I mean, if it became an unpexted best-seller, and we had the inside track on the author's names, the result with Lou Rawles would look like nothing. -
Noted a few one-shot wonders in the previous dozen posts including one - apparantly - 15 years old. Would a mod care to comment on whether these people have more than one posting address between them?
-
Toke, I weep for you Man, I'm not defending the later films but check out some of the stuff when he was thin......honest, it's worth the effort.
-
What do you think, is she out on the pull tonight?

Richard has a CV that many actors would envy simply because he kept working and kept earning decent money. But that's not exactly the point. There are others featured as the subject of threads here for whom we show respect because they achieved things. Even a few jobbing thesps like Al - Granpa Munster - Lewis is treated with a certain affection. Brando - for all his excesses and desperate later films - created some work that's undisputably classic.
-
I'd credit him with a sense of humour. Thanks Bruno.

'Impressive body of work!' Dunno about that. It's like registering the vast amount of time Cliff Richard has resided in the UK charts and deciding on that basis he's an artist. Dickie O' is a popular lightweight, the television equivalent of 'Take a Break' magazine....in my opinion.

Star Crossed, the joke is.......there is no joke. Only a thicko - like a blonde - would keep clicking round in circles without spotting the pointless chase for what it is.
