People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive

R Dean Taylor second white guy - the first being Neil Young - to sign to Motown. 69 this year but the received wisdom in our office was that he was dead. I mean, he hasn't played the Maryport Jazz Festival, like Dionne Warwick did not too long ago.

    Amy Winehouse

Mind, if you read the article it's her cat I feel sorry for.

    Gary Glitter

BBC aren't reporting a heart attack, more a severe dose of the sh*ts and his ticker a bit off regular. As Glitter might say: 'Heart attack, my arse!'

    The Dead Of 2008

Rt Rev Graham Chadwick them high profile clerics get an obit every time!

    Amy Winehouse

Videod on crack!! I'll confess I never thought it would come to this. If those around her are prepared to stand back now we could have us a big score (heh heh) this year. Not that I picked her for any deadpools, like.

    Billy Graham

The Review section of yesterday's observer mentioned 'the late Billy Graham' bet that journo will get a few gentle reminders from his colleagues when Graham ups and dies for real.

    Derby Dead Pool 2008

Yeah but if the Telegraph see fit to mark the passing of Eddie 'Bozo' Miller owt is possible this week. 'The tension mounts......' as Wittman might once have said.

Game on! As the trial starts.

    The Dead Of 2008

Eddie 'Bozo' Miller 'glutton and racing fan.' Dead on January 7th, if this guy warrants a full-blown Telegraph obit surely Don Wittman is in there too.

    World War I Veteran(s)

The above is nowt special, they died a bit faster at the Somme.

What - like - they've only just realised!

People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive

Dilys Thomas is still alive. There are a few moderately famous people with that name but only one is the mother of 69 year old David Dimbleby. Doesn't have her own Wiki page but she'd be a good bet for a paragraph here or there and DDP points. Born 1913 (I think).

    Derby Dead Pool 2008

Wittman, a moderately popular pick with one team Kackers United punting their joker in his direction. We can only hope......

    The Monkeys

Cheers Godot, it's nice to see one eagerly anticipated awards ceremony going ahead despite the writers strike.

    Captain Beefheart

So he's exactly a year old than Muhammad Ali, two very individual genius types born on the same day, might be summat in this astrology, like.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2009

So, is it blather or will he deliver? Speaking of nominating from my 'own parish' when did I ever? Ivor Broadis is as close to home as I've ever got and if he wandered past you you'd be tempted to study form, as an ex England international and noted journalist he'll deffo get a national obit as and when. On the other hand I'll totally cop for finding abandoned barrels on my travels around the the UK and diving in for a good scrape!

    Norman Wisdom

He's on telly in half an hour and it promises to be surreal, high quality car crash television of the highest order. Time to study form methinks. Just time for a shower, kettle on and cut a slice of cake!

    Football

recently appeared on You Tube, edited highlights from May 8th 1999, 'St Jimmy's Day' as it is known in some parts of Cumbria.

    Suharto

Yeah, but if we post like f**k on this thread and apply a little Chaos Theory we might destabilise world electric supplies to the point that his hospital suffers a power cut!

    Derby Dead Pool 2008

Aye top pick, respect to the Winged Devil Monkeys Speaking of Monkeys, did any get awarded for 2007?
  22. Deja Vu tour movie of their last US tour, due to premier at Sundance. Whether it'll be their epitaph, we can't say.

    Suharto

Look at what he's putting us through with all this waiting. I mean does he care about our human rights, or what?

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2009

Reg 'Rehab' Hollings. I have a sneaking suspicion he'll recover to the point he could sell a story to a newspaper and make a tv return in an 'ironic' sylee like 'Fat Barry' from Eastenders in 'Extras.'

    Pressing The Self-destruct Button

Who'd 'ave thunk it about Andy Kershaw eh? Alcohol problems and his show currently off air. Mebbe he should - like - start seeing Britney Spears, or summat.
