    Ask A Deathlister

A question: Is there some reliable software, legal or otherwise, that will allow me to turn ANY radio programme accessed online into an MP3 file? I'm asking because I love 6 Music's Freakzone and for ages taped it and listened to it as a scuttled around the roads with my work. However, since May the Maryfleet of high performance vehicles does not include one with a tape deck and I'm getting hacked off using listen again.

    Ideas and possibilities for 2008

Re Willie Nelson; he's booked tour wise up to May 13th in London and despite his upcoming 75th birthday and liking for spliffs seems in fairly good shape. Anyone - like the person tipping him - want to show us some evidence for this hunch?

    Ronald Coase For 2008?

Aye given the number of people forced to study something he developed by way of theory we'd probably have a marginally livlier thread than we managed for some this year. Deffo more action than Cliff Mitchelmore.

    Titanic Survivors

For all her tender feelings crusty old Milvena has used her status as a career opportunity, not above appearing on those 'what's my secret' type television programmes in the past and - ironic as it seems - often handy with a strong opinion against those exploiting the tragedy in other arenas. Her lucidity in this instance has me reconsidering her on the passenger list for my DDP team.

    Antonio Samaranch

The linked story just talks about fatigue and makes much of his freeloading - I mean; his dedicated involvement in the Olympic movement. Nowt in there other than a suggestion that his 87year ticker is struggling with his jet setting lifestyle. In other words, he could cut down and see out 2008 on this evidence.

    World War I Veteran(s)

I'd ruled him out of my teams on the basis of his being unlikely to get a UK obit, tomorrow's papers will be interesting.

    Ask A Deathlister

Lighter, I'm guessing your query is down to the fact that the lighter than air properties of methane might give a spurious reading of a person being lighter whilst packing a massive fart. I'm also guessing the query is based on humans, most animals of significant size fart, the process is - more or less - the same in most cases but the proportional mixture of fart gases varies depending on the animals involved. In reality the main fart gas is Nitrogen and farts also contain CO2, their combustion is a bit misleading, it's the methane and the small amount of hydrogen that burns, the rest of the fart doesn't catch fire and since the rest of the fart is the main part of it, it does have some significance weight wise.

    Maryport!!!

Of late out local paper has taken to sharing pictures of West Cumbrians enjoying themselves in local clubs. I've considered sharing this with the forum but the latest shot in the series demands a wider audience to see just how the locals round here enjoy having it large, or summat. Check it out!

He's outlived three, actually. Got some illustrious company then, the Bronte's dad outlived them all. Didn't last long enough to argue the toss about film rights for their work, mind.

    Great Gigs In The Sky

Given the title of the thread we'd have to - I guess - report the possibility of a Pink Floyd reunion.

    The Hartlepool Deadlypool

There's intense debate on the Deadlyboard, well both me and CP have posted anyway, on the 'improbable death' bonus for next year. Great idea but how - exactly - do we decide improbable? I kinda like the idea of the bonus and it strikes me that it's like giving marks for artistic impression in skating, not exactly scientific but deffo celebrating the essence of the whole thing. To save loads of pointless bleating when our picks are ruled out of the bonus and - also - to breathe life into a slow board how about: Set up an improbables thread, anyone with any interest can post names, you decide ahead of the submission date who's in and out, and we pick 'em from the 'definite improbables' list meaning all the bonuses are equal and we know who's gonna get the bonus if they go. I'm tempted to punt in a few all of whom I'd like to pick cos it'd be amusing/ironic if they carked it: Prince Edward Steve McLaren Heather Mills McCartney Peter Andre Nick Clegg Billy Ray Cyrus

    Ideas and possibilities for 2008

Looking good for us, there's bound to be coverage of their fractious relationship and even if the tabloids didn't go wild on the day she died the DDP/HPDP qualifiers of 'an article mentioning....' would doubtless be supported by discussions of how this death impacted on her son. The only downer being the 'crying wolf' aspect of some of her previous utterances to the press. On the sketchy evidence here she could make it to 2009.

    Reg Gutteridge

Re the tin leg there's a great story about Sonny Liston and Reg. Liston complained that his 'the bear' nickname was stupid because black men have less body hair than white men. Reg bet him that Sonny had more hair on his leg than he did. Sonny took the bet and when they rolled up their trousers Reg - of course - won the bet. Liston apparently almost doubled up with laughter. Lost that there leg to a German mine whilst storming a beach didn't he? Wiki page is a bit sketchy, just says b 1924, nowt on his current health.

    Read Any Good Books Lately?

The Mothman Prophecies saw the movie ages ago but hadn't appreciated until I started to read it how good a book it is. Kinda relevant since the author may well make fleeting appearances - like Mothman - in a variety of DP teams next year. Assuming he lives another 12 days that is.

    Ian Huntley

A certain Jon Morecroft departed Facebook after the 'Get Huntly Off....' group on the same site rounded on him and grew to 85,000 members. Anyone know for sure, was Jon really the overweight, suicidal scumbag? Be nice if he reflected on the tonnage of hatred unleashed on him and decided to do himself in at - say - one minute past midnight on Jan 1st.
  25. I'd seen the same report, it's worth noting Nash says: So next year it'll be them all holding on for his recovery, neatly timed with the end of Neil Young's European tour before the four of them clean up with another massive US tour, or summat.
