When it comes to a sex offender being in their ranks, Labour ignores the recommendation to suspend the person in question and removes them immediately (Christian Matheson), whereas the Conservatives give them a comedy nickname and a promotion (Chris Pincher).

Setting aside the fact that the Tories have scumbags in their ranks, Matheson resigned. Labour upheld complaints and we're going to suspend him but he jumped before he was pushed.

Let's not assume that Labour have the moral high ground, there is still shit floating around them regarding anti- semetic views.

The moral compass that should direct British politics is fucked.

  2. If the Tories suddenly in get smart, and they won't, whoever comes in should go for an election sometime in March. Labour will whinge about it not being NOW but they will be on a campaign footing for a shoe in. The Tories will get 5 odd months to turn shit around, they won't, leaving Labour to deal with the hike in energy prices and all the other shit too. They will blame the Tories and the public will say' so what? You are the government now and you promised to deal with it all. Fascinating, truly fascinating.....

He's not just a club legend, he's a national legend.

He was - until this - in exceptionally good health. So much so, I felt he would easily be the last survivor of the 1958 World Cup.

Teddy Medwin is that little bit older and frailer, albeit in great shape for 90.

Maybe he (Jones) still will be the last survivor, but it's a real shame he won't have full mental faculties.

Yes, he is deeply proud to have represented his country!

A much loved, old school, kind of guy.

Don't know if it was mentioned elsewhere but reading a column in Backpass football magazine and the author was talking about meeting Ex-Spurs and Wales legend Cliff Jones recently and mentioned that he's in the early stages of dementia

That is fucking sad. The man is a club legend and much loved.

Lady FN and myself used to see him walking up to the entrance to the ground (old stadium), probably got the bus there on matchdays.

He was always happy to stop and chat and seemed a tad bemused that people thought the world of him.:(

Mrs msc knows about the DL and DDP. A few years ago, when I was getting checked for cancer, I wondered what would happen if I was to die and she said: "Don't worry, I'll let your fellow weirdos know." See, she cares.

She is quite chill about the DDP but there's a few names I'm officially not allowed to pick (Yoko, Billy Connolly, etc) for a quiet life.

I also read her the top 50 each New Year's Day for her amusement, and it often leads to a chorus of "they're not dead yet?" from her.

I'm getting checked for that soon, too.

Sounds intriguing!! So does this mean you have met some of the legendary  Deadpoolers from here like @Toast ? and can you confirm my theory she is a cross breed between Joan Collins and Penelope Keith??!:D

I always had Toast up for being Elsie Tanner! No, never met her.

Met, off the top of my head.... Lardy, MPFC, LG, RA, STTG & DTTG, TM ( who was notapotato) Captain Oates, DWB, HMBWA, another fella who I can't remember (last on here years ago) ATJ, and others. I will try to remember them and update.

Had some great meets tbf, we really are just ordinary folk that rock!! :D

    Got pissed too!

EDIT: Alphonsin. We all loved him, such a lovely guy!!

    EDIT 2: Godot.

Having given her a few viewings, I agree. Hosting/co-hosting quiz/game shows is a definite talent that not everyone possesses. She also, at times, comes across as a bit too fangirlish. Plus, she can't read an autocue/laptop without it sounding like shes reading, and demonstrates lack of preparation with her delivery (see also Ann Robinson) such that it comes across stilted and full of mispronunciations. (e,g. Jean Dujardin pronounced as in Harlow, rather than Luc Godard).

....but apart from that all ok?

  9. Huw Pill, the BOE Chief Economist, has stated that 'Over the course of the past week, there has be a significant repricing of financial assets. Part of that re-pricing reflects broader global developments. Part of it reflects the ongoing normalisation of macroeconomic policy after the pandemic-induced episode of exceptional ease. But there is undoubtedly a UK-specific component'.

'As the Governor said in his statement on Monday afternoon, we are monitoring financial markets developments – and, in particular, that UK-specific component – very closely'.

    Nowt more to say.

  10. So, let's look at where we are, apart from fucked.

The Prime Minister and Chancellor are finished. The two remaining options are another change of Tory leader & cabinet reshuffle or a general election.

Two issues spring to mind, here. The '... moving of the deck chairs on the Titanic' will be attributed to another Tory leadership election and, with an election, the money markets, generally distrusting of anything Labour and socialism, are not going to be having celebratory wanks over a red landslide.

So, it looks like we are royally fucked on all fronts.

    We are doomed!

Someone over the average lifespan in the U.S and also around the average age of deaths for modern President's would be a good pick in a few years? No shit.

Being a rich American will mean that he will have a better than average chance of going beyond the other averages.

    Just sayin, like.

  12. Was it Wilson who said  'A week is a long time in Politics' or summat?

Sir Keith has gone from that gormless looking twat who you hope doesn't come and sit next you on the bus you are on to a man running around like an amorous dog with two dicks.

He actually believes that this his his moment, he is the Political porn star with a full nut sack, ready to unload.

Now if he could keep Abbott, Rayner etc and the like away from the action, well... ..

  13. It is beyond satire.

It is as if they have done it all on purpose, like, they COULD have bought out a tax cutting budget with all the provisos for paying the shit tons of money they would be borrowing back but..nah.

I've not seen a Government in my life time so intent on committing political and economic suicide to the point where you are imploring the cabinet to be sectioned for their and our protection.

As an aside, I am curious to know how all of those Corbyn devotees are reacting to all of this.

He did, at the last election, promise the fucking earth, had no plan on how to pay the borrowed money back but was feted as some sort of messiah.

Well, now we know what would have happened had he got in!

Who would have thought it, Sir Keith, out to rescue us all.:D
