Pass what? If you mean "die", say so. I don't mind metaphorical euphemisms like fall off the perch or kick the bucket, but "pass" is such a spineless cop-out. This is the DeathList, not the PassList. We are better than that.
-
The one that really pisses me off is "sadly passed away" which is regurgitated as though it were a single word. How much quicker to say "died". I particularly dislike the positioning of "sadly" as it appears to refer to the deceased. It may be sad for others, but sometimes people are glad to go. It is much better to say "Sadly, X has died" or, if you are too spineless to say DIED, "Sadly, X has passed away". Time people stopped being scared of the words dead, died etc.

I'm still trying to muster the courage to watch that. I watched it last night. Not what you'd call a feelgood family film, is it? Some of it was pretty icky and I was afraid it might give me bad dreams but it didn't , not so far anyway. I won't watch it again, but I'm glad I've seen it.

Olivia de Havilland got her Damehood when she was almost 101.

I'm surprised Colman isn't. She's in bloody everything. I can't stand her, there's something about her face that makes me want to punch it. I really, really hated her as The Queen. Of course we don't always know when an honour has been offered and declined.

That's a great top three. I neither love nor hate any of the others. -

Ah, I see - I misunderstood.

I think that there are some people I just don't want to die so I subconsciously avoid picking them. The only pool I had Maggie in was the 30/30 pool which started years ago.
-
I didn't have him, but don't the various motorsport magazines count as "respectable" sources? I would have thought Autosport would.
-
Spot on. I think more people would be familiar with Maggie Smith because of the range of films and programmes she appeared in. Not everyone followed Star Wars. (I saw the first one but never felt the desire to watch any more.) And JEJ wasn't recognisable in it.

HG Tudor thinks this is Boris embellishing facts because he has a book to sell.

Fabulous actress, a great loss.

Seems it can't be found. There's another gruesome escalator one in the link though (the second one - the first one's a bit tame). https://unidentifiedweirdtv.co.uk/2020/08/23/the-doll-on-the-escalator-the-elusive-pif/comment-page-1/
