It always amused me, when living in France, to see the advertisements for the sports chain "GoSport". On occasion one would see large neon signs atop city buildings; how unexpected to see GOSPORT emblazoned in lights across the roofs of Paris.

I feel exactly the same about weddings. Just decline the invitation, that's what I do. You can still get pissed at home.

I resent the way they artificially use each other's names all the time. "What's the atmosphere like there, Brian?" "Well, John, the Prime Minister blah blah" They're meant to be talking to us, not each other. They are paid by us to tell us the news, not make us feel like eavesdroppers. Grrrrrrrrrr.

I think it's because it's the anniversary. There is a British Titanic Society convention every year on the weekend nearest the anniversary, it always used to be in Southampton, but I think lately they've held it in different places. That would help publicise it.

You could always get a dog of your own and keep it in your back garden all night. That'd give him a taste of his own medicine.
