Concubine is such a fabulous word. So much better than 'partner'. It sounds vaguely floral. Or vegetable. "There are some lovely concubines at the bottom of the garden".

I thought it meant 'daughter of', but IMBW. Bint is a rather old-fashioned slang word for a girl or woman in England. Probably picked up by soldiers in the Middle East during the world wars, so the usage has all but died out.

In the interests of full disclosure, I will admit that I have some of these floor lamps. Bought for me by a friend. So ridiculously cheap that the bulbs cost more than the lamps.
