I was intrigued by this tweet. It's the leader of the 1984 Sitcom Suzanne Pleshette Is Maggie Briggs which - as you might have guessed - wasn't a success and only lasted for 6 episodes. Lifespan of most cast members was cut short as well.. Suzanne Pleshette died in 2008, 70 years old, Kenneth McMillan died at 56, Stephen Lee at 58, Roger Bowen at 63 and Michelle Nicastro at 50. Only Shera Danese (72), John Getz (74) and Alison La Placa (61) are still alive.

She's been caught again, according to Bild she was walking along a large road (which is quite impressive, at 96 years old) https://www.bild.de/regional/hamburg/bremen-aktuell/paukenschlag-zum-prozess-auftakt-in-itzehoe-angeklagte-kz-sekretaerin-auf-der-fl-77828838.bild.html#fromWall

His grandson and heir apparent, Ferdinand Zvonimir Maria Balthus Keith Michael Otto Antal Bahnam Leonhard von Habsburg-Lothringen is currently in the lead in the LMP2 at the 24h of Le Mans. Just wanted to share this useless information with you all.

Thought he died when I saw this tweet: But Buffett is just stepping down as trustee of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. And in the accompanying letter he writes this:

Bad pick! Kees Rijvers (former Dutch international and coach of the Dutch national team and PSV Eindhoven) turned 95 last week. Based on this article He still lives on his own, still cycles to the bakery (much to the dismay of his children) but doesn't watch the national team anymore because they play too defensive. He does still enjoy Messi, Hazard and De Bruyne though. And he enjoys to play billiards. According to the article this is a pic on his 95th birthday:
-
He would be a nice name on the list..

Astronomer Kees de Jager turned 100 last week. He wrote his last scientific paper 2 years ago and he used to be in great shape (running a 10k at the age of 91) until he took a nasty fall last year. He had to follow his centenary on Zoom but was still able to give interviews (and he was the coverboy of the dutch New Scientist).

When I saw Nigel Bond on the ShootOut a few months ago he looked like some kind of dying vulture.. but he did secure his tour card so you might all be able to see for yourself next year.
-
Good to see he looks like his old self again! (but in this pic it looks like he's gotten a wig. Maybe his hair transplant went wrong)
-
You didn't mention my Leo Beenhakker thread.
-
I'm pretty sure he will still be obitable. There have been some more Islam-critic cartoonists-related incidents in recent years.
-
After seeing the images from last month, I didn't expect him to leave his house ever again (except for the hospital of worse) so this is surprising. But he's still old and frail.

My newspaper had an interview with A.B. Yehoshua, the last remaining great Israeli writer of his generation after Amos Oz and Aharon Appelfeld died (i'm just quoting the article, i'm not very much into the Israeli literal landscape..), and it said he's tired because his cancer has returned.

My dutch newspaper had a very in-depth obit: https://www.nrc.nl/nieuws/2021/01/06/een-voor-nederland-te-uitgesproken-gigant-a4026328. He always seemed like a nice guy to me, very smart and very stubborn. The obits mentions him wearing cowboy boots and driving a motor cycle. I read somewhere else he named his software (which would eventually lead to his nobel prize) schoonschip to annoy non-dutchies cause it would be impossible to pronounce the ch, which makes a scraping g-sound in dutch.

That last photo reminds me of the brilliant David Thomas of Pere Ubu, who (apart from looking really unhealthy and hardly being able to walk anymore) said he almost died twice the past few years. Might not be famous enough, but at least DDP-worthy.
-
Fun fact: Beenhakker means leg chopper in Dutch.

Louis Andriessen has Alzheimer's and vascular dementia: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nu.nl/muziek/6094441/componist-louis-andriessen-81-lijdt-aan-dementie.amp (in Dutch) . He finished his last piece last year, but entered a care facility in march this year. In interviews from 2 years ago he sounded extremely lucid and erudite, so I guess his decline is pretty fast paced. -
Science philosopher Bruno Latour has pancreatic cancer (cannot find an English source yet, but he says so in my Dutch newspaper today). Guaranteed obit, I guess.
-
Most likely dead (but I guess he expects us to remain sceptic) .. I really enjoyed the documentary An Honest liar, seemed like a nice (and eccentric) guy.

Yeah I know not every political leader is a statesman and well, the bar has been lowered but WTF dude, this is just bizarre nonsense.
