Oral Roberts dead, so that's another survivor gone. Someone with too much spare time should make a new survivors-update on the 1st of 2010. Maybe if I don't have a hangover.

Good luck, stay strong, hou je taai, etc, Vaagheid. Being lazy, I don't think i'm the dedicated man for the dutch deathlist. Something like that does exist at Retecool (http://retecool.com/forum/1/het-dutch-dead-pool-2009-topic/3/0) for at least a couple of years, but they lack a good community (but they do have a list of teams: http://members.home.nl/joranv/Doodpool2009.htm). It might be better to help them to become more wide-spread.

Not to mention Ron Jeremy.

Tragic guy, great talent.

She's had an astroid named after her.

Without looking at the photo, I started reading the sentence thinking you were going to talk about Joop Braakhekke. I still can't really see the link between Sport Commentator and Television Chef. Well, it was just some free association, based on their love for alcoholic beverages (Nelissen saying "Ik ben gestopt met drinken en zuip alleen nog maar"), the consequence of losing all of their money, the blackness of their hair and their troubled way of looking at the camera. Had to think about this for a long time, but how about Johan van Hulst, the former CDA-leader in the CDA parliament. Almost too old to remember, but he's still a great chess player, winning the famous corus former politician tournamanet at the age of 95. A speech of him earlier this year: (it's in English. Well, some kind of English).

Minimalists (and other classical composers/musicians)
I.R.Baboon replied to harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy's topic in DeathList Forum
Elliott Carter might not be a minimalist (or he might, what do I know), but he sure is DL-material, turning 101 in 3 months and still composing. -
After reading about the late Keith Floyd, I couldn't help thinking of 'our own' Keith Floyd, Jean Nelissen. Former cycling commentator, and now mainly famous for drinking awful lots of liquor, smoking cigars, going bankrupt and for not being grey, even though he's 72.

Last time I took a gamble with Mandela, my dark horse , this time I'm sticking to an obvious candidate. Al-Megrahi it is.
-
With the dead of Toxopeus, I suddenly thought about two more candidates (with english Wiki-pages): Max Kohnstamm and Max van der Stoel. Max result guaranteed. (And yes, I've studied political science).
-
I voted for Mandela. Just because I can.

I thought I heard somewere that he has stepped down recently Yeah, so did I. Oh well, a former president is interesting too.

He's not into twitter Does that make his future better or worse?

Thanks, Finney and Ryder continue to the final.

A year later, not much has happened...

Simon Vinkenoog, poet, writer and professional consumer of everything illegal and mind-expanding died last night, aged 80.

I saw an interview with Jos Wijnant last week, he sure is in quite good health and very bright. Well, for someone at the age of 107, that is. I'd like to add the King of the Levenslied (a song about all the tragidy in life with classic titles as 'a tear falls in my bear' as well as more 'filthy' lyrics) Johnny Hoes, who is 92 and still performing (UK obit: not very likely) and of course Geert Wilders, who would love to get shot and get even more attention.
-
According to the reviews his voice was still pretty good (especially considering his age of course), but this was his big last wish, so i'm quite unsure what to say about his future.

He fell on the first of January at his holiday home, was released from the hospital one week later and is now in a private clinic for further recovery. His performance in Deventer, The Netherlands for next month has not yet been canceled. Pic from the hospital: His grandfather became 108, so he might be around for a few more years.
