I'm going to withdraw from this game as I feel the rules weren't set out properly. A lot of names I entered in my list were foreign personalities because it wasn't mentioned anywhere beforehand that a DDP-criteria obits rule applied. Hopefully it will be better organised next year if it is repeated.

The rest of the forum is quite quiet. Theoldlady is merely sparking conversation - surely something we should welcome. Quit being so grumpy.

No. May's weakness is her strength. The necessity to commit to the Brexit process and see the negotiations finalised will keep the Government together. MPs will refrain from stabbing her until at least late 2019.

95 years old. Good innings. That’s a lot of chicken suppers. -
Apologies! In my defence, I've never done that before.

A few more... American Democratic politician Alan Sagner apparently dead at 97. British track and field athlete and 2012 Olympic torch bearer Mary Wixey apparently died December 21st aged 96. Here's a Facebook post from Athletics Weekly mentioning it. Someone keeps editing the page of Mary Lee Woods with a date of death for late last year. She was the mother of the inventor of the World Wide Web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee and wife to mathematician Conway Berners-Lee, but also a noted mathematician and computer programmer in her own right. This church bulletin seems to confirm it. And so we wait... -

Disney animator Ruthie Tompson is on BBC Four right now, interviewed as part of a documentary. Looks and sounds great for a lady turning 108 in July. Edit: Don Lusk also interviewed on it. Turning 105 this year and looks great too.

Found this online obituary for actor Richard Venture. Surprisingly, no media has picked it up yet. I imagine Hollywood Reporter will get on it soon enough though. Wiki page

Apparently it's not her.

I had her on a list of surviving Vaudeville stars (of which I could only find 3 names). The other 2 are Nanette Fabray (b. 1920) and Diana Serra Cary (b. 1918)

Just watched a BBC Four doc about Rock n Roll. Don Everly looks okay. Jerry Allison from The Crickets looks incredible for 78. Jerry Lee Lewis looks and sounds horrific. Would be shocked if he makes it to 2019.

Actually, for the majority of their first decade they were confined to a single house, seldom fed and routinely beaten until they memorised the language and the teachings of il-Sung. I wouldn't say the end result was exactly worth it...
