I watched The Mummy (1999 version) the other night. He was in it as the eccentric pilot. Horrific acting (though the same can be said of most of the cast in that film).

People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...

Official confirmation Is that searchable? 'Recent updates' or summat, and how would you know what the update is without opening each one? The whole premise that you can open up Wiki and determine an edit was made re: a death seems elusive to my tiny brain. Enlighten me. To answer your question... it's really quite simple. Make yourself an account on Wikipedia and then you'll be able to select "watch" on a particular page. It will be added to a page called your "watchlist" which will show you a list of all changes made to pages you're currently watching. I'm watching about 4000 names at the moment. All are 85+ -

Thomas Schelling, 95, Nobel laureate in Economics died today according to an edit on Wikipedia. Picked by 2 teams on the DDP. -
I think a lot of people knew he was still alive, but there was a great deal of uncertainty about his age. 1912, 1920 and 1922 all given as a date of birth. The news report says he was 104 but he may have been 96 or 94... often you get later news reports coming out with different ages. I imagine he'll get numerous QOs and they might be more reliable. (hopefully - never rely on the British press to fact check or get anything right).

I'm not sure about instantly dispelling the edit on Usery's page as being fake. He's been out of the spotlight the last few years and he was only a US Cabinet Sec for a single year. It's reasonable to believe the media may take a few days to pick up on it. -

FOUR names... Actor Kevin O'Morrison allegedly died yesterday aged 100. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_O%27Morrison Someone claiming to be his granddaughter claims William Usery Jr. who was US Secretary of Labor (1976-1977), died December 10th aged 93. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Usery_Jr. WWII hero John Moffat apparently died yesterday in Perth aged 97. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Moffat_(Royal_Navy_officer) And the Rev. Fred Secombe, who was Harry Secombe's brother and a prominent priest in his own right, dead at 97 on December 8th. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Secombe All awaiting obits. Moffat is a DDP pick. -
Nice spot. I was talking to one of my friends who is in and out of Westminster from time to time as a lobbyist. Apparently Baroness Trumpington is very ill right now. The other person I asked about was Lord Carrington. I was told "excellent health, still attends frequently".

Hmm very interesting situation now! Britain's oldest man is now a joint record. 1) Alf Smith of Perth, Scotland 2) Bob Weighton of Alton, Hampshire Both born 29th March 1908. Here's an article about Alf on his 108th. http://www.scotsman.com/news/scotland-s-oldest-man-reveals-secret-to-long-life-1-4086456 Here's an article about Bob shortly before his 108th. http://www.farnhamherald.com/article.cfm?id=108155&headline=Bob,%20107,%20books%20in%20for%20early%20birthday%20treat§ionIs=news&searchyear=2016

"Worldnewsdailyreport.com reports" And there's your problem right there. Low rate, bottom feeding amateur news site trying to gather traffic. Honestly, I don't know why you give air to such clickbait nonsense.

He'll get an obit no problem.

Why don't you GTF out of here instead? Will please more people.

Death of Tovar (106) makes Renee Simonot (105) the oldest actress in my books. Can't think of anyone older. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renée_Simonot

Updated for Turki Mishaal is still alive. His death was reported by Saudi press then the reports were later withdrawn. Also Bandar is still alive too. Another prince within the family called Bandar died and there was confusion. So there were 36 brothers all in all. 11 of them alive, 25 of them dead.

Here's my list of nonagenarian names I think DL should consider for inclusion in 2017. June Foray (b. 1917) was very active until 2014 then suddenly stopped doing anything.. make of that as you wish Dame Vera Lynn (b. 1917) now very frail, surely has to go soon Lord Peter Carington (b. 1919) now the oldest member of the House of Lords. Looked okay in interviews this year but he is 98 in June! Sheila Mercier (b. 1919) 98 in January but perhaps a gamble. Heard little of her since her brief return to Emmerdale Richard Adams (b. 1920) frail, walking assistance though makes odd appearances Jerry Maren (b. 1920) have we ever had a Munchkin on DL? last chance I reckon.. recent videos of him on YouTube show him to be incredibly frail Wayne Thiebaud (b. 1920) rare public appearances now Clifton James (b. 1921) beats me how he's still alive. Didn't look a healthy sort 35 years ago. Jake LaMotta (b. 1921) seemed like a good bet a few years ago but fairly active. A gamble. Peter Sallis (b. 1921) retired 2010, very frail and out of public view. I'd be amazed if he saw 2018 Liz Smith (b. 1921) series of strokes in 2009 though made occasional returns to the screen since Jackie Stallone (b. 1921) heart attack in 2013 Pierre Cardin (b. 1922) another one who seemed like a good bet a few years ago, though still seems to be fairly active. A gamble. Denis Norden (b. 1922) one or two hospitalizations in recent years, still does interviews but frail Carl Reiner (b. 1922) still active but not looking his best Bob Dole (b. 1923) difficult one. seems to be doing better recently than he was a few years ago Roy Dotrice (b. 1923) last role was in Game of Thrones almost 5 years ago. Didn't look great then Henry Kissinger (b. 1923) still fairly active but a gamble... would be a big miss if he went and wasn't listed Sumner Redstone (b. 1923) how he's still breathing is beyond me. Golden DL material. Exclusion would be silly George H. W. Bush (b. 1924) could have a few years left in him but frail and wheelchair bound. I suspect he could go and Carter will sail through to 2018 Baroness Jill Knight (b. 1924) oldest surviving female MP, recently retired from Lords. Could go on for a few years yet though Robert Mugabe (b. 1924) conflicting reports on his health. Though if we missed him, we'd kick ourselves for months over it Leslie Phillips (b. 1924) frail, wheelchair bound, stroke in 2014 and another hospitalization in 2015 Barbara Bush (b. 1925) looks incredibly frail, recent hospitalizations Jerry Lewis (b. 1926) the man who has defied every illness, still acting though his body is surely knackered from what it's been through Weaker choices in my opinion are: Iris Apfel (b. 1921), Jean, Grand Duke of Luxembourg (b. 1921), Doris Day (b. 1922), Stan Lee (b. 1922), Betty White (b. 1922), Nicholas Parsons (b. 1923), Sir Peregrine Worsthorne (b. 1923), Charles Aznavour (b. 1924), Jimmy Carter (b. 1924), Honor Blackman (b. 1925), David Graham (b. 1925), Dame Angela Lansbury (b. 1925), Dick Van Dyke (b. 1925), June Whitfield (b. 1925), Chuck Berry (b. 1926), Mel Brooks (b. 1926), Don Rickles (b. 1926), Elizabeth II (b. 1926), Hugh Hefner (b. 1926), Norman Jewison (b. 1926) I will edit to add more when I get time.

Kay Starr was the person with the earliest UK Number 1 single alive. That title now goes to Sally Sweetland (b. 1911)... if she's still alive. Somebody really ought to find that out. If Sweetland is dead then Doris Day had the earliest number one.
-
Actress Rose Marie wrote about it on her personal page. I imagine it's true.

I'll assume you meant to post in Nazi SS Whats wrong with it being posted here? He was a WWII veteran regardless... and all veterans deserve our respect. Not just those who fought for the Allies.

He was the oldest royal figure in the world apparentely..No idea who inherits his title Probably Infanta Alicia (b. 1917) though she is a pretender now.
