Wiki edited to say 107 year-old Rose Morat has died. http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Rose_morat She was famously beaten up and mugged when she was 101 but got the last laugh as the felon who committed the crime against her got 75 years in prison! EDIT: obituary - http://obits.dignitymemorial.com/dignity-memorial/obituary.aspx?n=Rose-Morat&lc=1051&pid=166320771&mid=5627420 -
People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...

Although we already have a rumours page, I thought it was time a thread was creating for people solely declared dead on Wikipedia but with no obituaries yet circulating the internet. Over the past few months or so I've been scribbling down names of people who have been declared dead on the site and 90% of them turned out to be true, but in some instances I had to wait several weeks for anything to come out. Some obituaries can be quite tricky to find so it'd be good for some of the more experienced deathpoolers to be informed so they can help dig an obit out whether it be found on Google, through Twitter (which I've found to be the most useful recently) or even an archived search. 4 names for now, all declared dead on Wiki in the last few days, no obits as of yet! Sheila Wright (b. 1925) Labour MP; 1979-1983 http://en.wikipedia....i/Sheila_Wright *Page says she died on July 5 after a long illness - nothing on net, but nor can I find any pics/much info about her. I reckon she was a really obscure backbencher. EDIT: death notice - http://www.bmdsonline.co.uk/28909485?s_source=tmmi_bmem Draga Matkovic (b. 1907) Croatian-born German classical pianist http://en.wikipedia..../Draga_Matkovic *Deutsch language page states she died in Bad Reichenhall on July 29th - I believe she's also a DDP pick EDIT: obituary - http://www.domus-mea...hren-gestorben/ Benjamin Walker (b. 1913) British Indian-born English writer http://en.wikipedia...._Walker_(author) *According to page, died 30 July aged 99 in Teddington, England. Uses several pseudonyms. EDIT: obituary - http://www.suttongua...enjamin_Walker/ V. Dakshinamoorthy (b. 1919) Indian carnatic musician http://en.wikipedia....Dakshinamoorthy *Page edited to say he died today (Aug 2nd) EDIT: obituary - http://www.deccanchr...thy-passes-away I will post more as soon as they flag up on my watchlist. Hopefully posting them here will speed up things up and also help to dispel rumours. -
Important to note that both Ian Paisley and his wife Eileen have taken a leave of absence from the House of Lords as of last week. Maybe both of them have booked themselves into a Dignitas clinic? We can but hope...

Your new world's oldest man is Arturo Licata, a Sicilian and now the only male aged over 110 on the planet. Calm down. Plenty of 110+ year old men on the planet. The GRG are just an incredibly shit organisation and it takes them forever and a day to verify cases.

Mandela - he's taking the piss now.

A family friend and most certainly irreplaceable. Very sorry to hear this. RIP.

So you presume that he's frail and can no longer walk based on the evidence that he's sat down in a recent photo - and possibly (in your mind at least) because he's wearing a silly hat? Tell me Guest_Guest, is their a functioning brain in your head or just a monkey banging together a pair of cymbals?

Was going to consider Mary Carlisle (102 next Feb) for 2014 but she looks like she may last out for another few years going by this video >

Looks like Indian social campaigner Sankaralingam Jagannathan passed away back in February. http://www.rightlivelihood.org/pressrelease_feb12.html Picked in the DDP a few years ago.

Edited list to remove Donald Chapman, but also Sir Morgan Morgan-Giles who has died aged 98. Obituary courtesy of the Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/politics-obituaries/10039104/Rear-Admiral-Sir-Morgan-Morgan-Giles.html

Well no offence intended dean1991 but you reported it as fact that he was alive when in reality we really don't know. In fact nobody on the internet knows, and his acting career stopped about 50 years ago. I'd be surprised if he was alive.

Is that why his Wikipedia article is filed into the "Possibly living" category?

Wonder if he died from an asphyxi-wank?

Just a tad biased. Britain was coming out of a WORLD WAR when Attlee was in power, so there's a situational difference. Naturally, there'd be more things to rebuild, and create.
