According to the Axis History Forum, which is usually a very reliable source for SS/Nazi-related bios, he died in 2001, aged 86. The page has an obituary from Spetember 2001 on it.... seems to be fairly notable so it's strange that I can't find anything else relating to his death on the internet.

I doubt if he will die soon, but I pick the 9th of march nonetheless (just to make sure no one claims this date if there is a sweepstake) Good shout, I was afraid nobody would reply and I'd end up looking like a pratt. Well I think he is ill.... to an extent. Although he's clearly exaggerating a lot of the time. Might go for March 17th, quite random but that's my birthday so I guess it's a present of a sort.... okay now I just sound like a creep...

No, that's true. Were they not the first to spread the Zelda Rubinstein-rumour, which misleaded most of the Deathlisting-community? But anyhow: where there's smoke in celebrity-land, there's usually fire. We'll see. I never mentioned a publicity stunt, no. I said that I "refused to take their 'engagement' serious", and it now turns out that I had every reason to do so. But let's stop quarreling, Ulitzer! Something in my posts seemed to annoy you, I'm sorry for that. On a forum like this, people always try to be a tiny little bit more humorous and witty than they probably are, so it doesn't always work out. Here, here. Although I wasn't trying to quarrel, I was just questioning what you said although I partly agree. I think we should both just get back to the point... this is a death-related forum and who honestly gives a stuff about how she lived, the broad's dead now and nobody seems that to be that fussed. Apart from Paris Hilton who seems to be on the attendee list for her funeral..... *sigh*

Trial session cancelled - Demjanjuk "ill" Anybody else think that a sweepstake is in order?

miss Johnson had an affair with Tila Tequila. Had an affair? They were engaged to get married... Two attention wh*res with a extremely flamboyant lifestyle, a rather consumptive view on relations and a proven lack of responsibility might have described their relationship in whatever way they'd liked, I refuse to take their 'engagement' serious. I can see you think a lot of yourself "Tomb raider", and although you'd like to think so, your opinions don't necessarily devalue or invalidate peoples' relationships. Regardless of what your morals make of their lifestyle, they were engaged. So to say they were having "an affair" is a bit demeaning. Just because somebody lives a reckless lifestyle doesn't blank out the fact that they're engaged, married etc. If that were the case, people like Gazza and Alex Higgins have been bachelor for many years now... What's wrong with a flamboyant lifestyle anyway? Some of us just like to make the most of our lives in different ways. Live and let live, have a little tolerance pal. Not only do I think a lot of myself, Ulitzer, it seems that my interpretation of Tila Tequila's (cough) engagement was more to the point than yours... [childish/girlish mode] Told you so! Told you so! Told you, told you, told you so! [/childish mode] O dear, I actually spent several minutes of my life on Tila Tequila... Who's the dumbhead here, I wonder? 1) It's TMZ, purely a gossip website and not always reliable 2) If it's true then you're right by default as it wasn't known to be a "publicity stunt" before her death. But I don't recall you saying anything about it being a publicity stunt anyway Tomb raider?

No it's not, infact she's getting better. Probably a good few years left in her yet. I'm removing her from my DDP. It can't get "better" it's a irreversible, degenerative disease, it can be managed, and you can have treatments to improve your quality of life, but it doesnt ever get better! That's not what I meant. Her symptoms have improved quite a bit and she isn't currently ill from the disease.... emphysema's a hit or a miss tbh.. yes she won't get better but she could go on for another 10 years yet...

None of them are old enough... give it another 5 years or so I'd say...

Another Frenchie, Eric Rohmer has died, just 3 months short of his 90th birthday. Picked by two teams in the DDP this year. Likeliness is he will get obituaries from The Independent, The Times, The Telegraph etc.

The oldest living former head of state is now Johan Ferrier of Suriname Not any more. Shame, just over 4 months shy of his 100th birthday. Picked in the 2009 DDP so I'm guessing he was picked for 2010. Some confirmation maninblack? This means that Vo Chi Cong is now the oldest surviving head of state, at 97 years old. If this fellow is counted, then it turns out that Ferrier was only the oldest from January 09 on. In any case, he ''is'' on the CPDP, so I suppose I should update that later today. Who's is the current oldest now? Well it's written in my post that you quoted

Northern Ireland's First Minister Peter Robinson was seen sobbing today about how his wife low-life good-for-nothing hypocritical "Christian" wife Iris tried to commit suicide after he discovered she was having an affair with an Ulster businessman. Jesus wept. After the public backlash against her controversial comments in 2009 and her subsequent depression, could we see her having another jab at it? Perhaps... we hope....

Johan Ferrier mentioned above. You did this earlier this week as well. Try checking to see a death hasn't been posted already before you do so yourself Pablo. Jean Carroll - check, my mistake - but I can't see any mention on this thread on Johan Ferrier apart from mine. Have I lost the post? The post about Johan Ferrier is in the "Political Frailty" thread where the deaths of any politicians, including heads of state are generally announced.

Abstract painter Kenneth Noland has died of cancer aged 85. He was a pick on last year's DDP... but was he picked this year? Only time will tell...

Mary Daly, the extremely radical and rather controversial feminist philosopher has died aged 81. Taught at a moderately Conservative Roman Catholic school, so when she refused to teach male students there, an uproar developed and the media spun the story out for years. Eventually she retired and moved to a remote location to see out the rest of her days. Interesting person though. Shame she died as the world needs more radical people like herself to keep us all mildly entertained. We read some of her material in Philosophy class and I seem to recall her stating in one of her books that "a woman will never be truly fulfilled in life unless she is a lesbian".

Freya von Moltke, a prominent member of the resistance during World War II and the wife of the great grandnephew of the Bismarck-era general, Moltke the Elder has died aged 98. Another 1911 person, American comedienne Jean Carroll, also died January 1st. Oddly, neither were picks in last year's DDP.

That link shows a picture of her attending a Billy Graham crusade. Sounds like a bit of a douche to me...

1) Gerald Ford is already dead 2) Tony Booth and Sean Connery are "only" in their mid-late 70s so this doesn't exactly fit them into the top criteria. Plus there have been no major reports corresponding to their health (although Connery has had minor things in the past like a chipped shoulder and cataracts done, nothing too serious) 3) Despite Jimmy Young's advanced age, again there is nothing to suggest he is in poor health and may slip off soon 4) Thatcher is a hit or a miss. But please don't refer to her as Baroness, she doesn't deserve the air she breathes, never mind a peerage and 5) Try doing some research first next time

Can't believe hardly anybody has heard of her... she's pretty famous but then I guess if you haven't seen anything she's been in then you wouldn't know the name. I remember her best from 8 Mile, Sin City and Just Married although she's been in a few other major blockbusters, sad loss but I'm sure the explanations will prevail at some point tomorrow.. I'm guessing her weight was the biggest issue.
