There are a few you've missed from the list. There's a constructive list here... this guy's research is pretty good. And don't forget the Watson siblings.. I think there are 3 or 4 of them still kicking about... Damn I knew I should've picked Marie Glory in the DDP.... I had well one of those gut instincts with her and Barbara Kent but I chose to ignore them.... ah well she's probs not going to get a UK obit anyway

Johanna Sigurdardottir first lesbian head of state, Barrack Obama first US black president, Patrick Harvie first bisexual leader of any British political party.. it's certainly been a good 3 months for minority groups... let's hope it continues... If Mel Gibson dropped dead I think that'd be the cherry on the top of the cake... or we could just settle for his father, Hutton who's going on 91...... you have to wonder where Mel's aggressive, hateful comments come from

I reckon he'll go on for a few years yet to be honest.. although that US intelligence report suggesting his oldest son is to take over is absolute rubbish.. it has as much truth in it as their report that Saddam Hussein had weapons of..... anyway, the Korean and Chinese press always seem to be closest when it comes to Jong-il so if his successor is to be one of his three sons, I would probably go for his youngest son.. who's never been seen in public and who there are no known images of....

Doubt Castro will be going anywhere anytime soon.. in fact I can see George Bush Sr. going before he does.. Fidel is just another Ronnie Biggs and Clive Dunn.. they'll outlive us all

Reported about 7 hours ago so I'm guessing it was fake. Surprising as it came from an editor who had a history of reporting a lot of real death reports on the site...
-
Yeah... I was hoping that myself but I had my doubts as he never appeared to be in great health... Florrie Baldwin's a hopeful though she's 112 too and she might just hang in their long enough to give the UK the world's oldest person title which we haven't seen in... well over a decade i guess? Saw her on a late night program about longevity last year.. and she too appeared to be very frail... I don't think we have much chance tbh

According to a wikipedia editor, Henry Allingham (112), British WWI veteran and Europe's oldest man has apparently been reported as having died.... no sources available to clarify.. I hope it's not true.. I am/was quite fond of him

According to this Finnish site, Aarne Arvonen died on 1st January at the age of 111. He was the last EVER surviving veteran of the Finnish Civil War and was one of three surviving "WWI-era veterans". 16 days seems a long time for an obituary to be spotted.. doubt he'll ever get a UK obit now..

Gonna stick with Norman... surprised none of the staff that work in his care home haven't done it for him yet..
-
TBH I'd never heard of him either before he appeared on DL Ah well.. Norman, Patrick and Susan will soon follow...
-
Hmm seems that they don't....

Krichevsky wasn't an official WWI veteran.. he just claimed he was and despite not being proven, he probably was as records were poorly recorded in WWI... however there are a lot of people out there who just exaggerate or make up claims to pocket a few bob. Guinness have stated that the "world's oldest person" record has many claimants, most of which turn out to be complete nonsense.

Griffin Bell who served as the 72nd U.S. Attorney General between 1977 and 1979 under Jimmy Carter, has died aged 90 after a battle with pancreatic cancer (watch out Swayze ).. I imagine someone must've picked him for DDP....
-
India, the 18 year-old pet cat of George W. and Laura Bush has died..... I feel for them... I really, really do.

Sorry Norm, your time's up mate....

The world's first ever female head of state Khertek Anchimaa-Toka has passed away at the age of 96 or 97. She was Chairman of the Presidium of the Little Khural (kind of like president) of Tuva (no longer a country as such) between 1940 and 1944. Still waiting on an English obituary.
-
Yep.....
-
Jurassic Park series author and film director Michael Crichton has died after a "very private" battle with cancer at the age of 66. Can only find several news sources so as of yet, no assertion of what kind of cancer it was
-
Robson jokes about losing his hair in cancer battle.

Hmmm... according to wiki, there are 11 verified WWI veterans left and some sources on the net say that there are only 3 left! Too confusing... what exactly do you need to have done to fall under the heading of WWI veteran?

Belgian cartoonist Raymond Macherot, best known for his comic series "Clifton" which by the looks of it pokes fun at English people by assuming stereotypes, has passed away at the age of 84. Still waiting on a British news source to follow up...

Wouldn't find that very hard to believe at all actually. Her son's confirmed it and I wouldn't be surprised if she never came off the heroin in the first place. As synical as this sounds I think she only pretended to get off the drugs so that she could sell "her story" to get more heroin money... just a theory
