He was still playing snooker and hitting century breaks last December, not exactly a sign of an imminent death. Unless you want Jack Lisowski on the list next year?

Anyone fancy seeing if we can find conclusive evidence for the alive/dead status of the four minor Muhammad Ali opponents I wrote about a couple of years ago? Robinson will surely remain forever lost. Miteff.... if he is alive, then he will have spent 13 years in a care home and be 89 this year. His care home is in Manhattan, after he retired from boxing he became a trainer at Stillman's Gym in New York. Was definitely on boxing historians' radars in the 2000s as he did interviews then, so I'm tempted to say he's still alive, but... 13 years in a care home? Warner I have no clue. Willing to promote Logan to 100% definitely alive as he's a big character in his local area (was the local truant officer, ran a bowling alley) and there's video footage here of him two years ago.

That same guy was talking about Reardon's illness last month, and he had the right location for where Reardon currently lives (or not as the case may be) in Torquay. Leaning towards legit.

Eliyahu Rips, Israeli mathematician who co-penned the original paper on the Bible code (the belief that there are hidden messages in the Bible/Torah that can be found by computers), dead at 75. Someone I assumed would have been much older and long dead tbh.

I'm picking Noam like a pensioner at a garden centre.

"Yeah, I know they've been having problems for ages..... since January I think.... something like the longest streak of the 21st century? I mean they should have picked.... right, yeah.... oh really they've broken it? Finally, Jimmy Carter has d.... wait what?"

Great show Hacks btw, finally a modern-day "prestige" TV program that doesn't just do the same fucking season over and over again.

"Ducky" Louie's real name is Lawrence Louie. He was definitely still alive in 2019 when he was listed as a "survived by" in his sister's obituary.

Him from Bingo Players, who in 2013 became one of the very few people to have a #1 single then die that same year. -
Minor trivia (which I only learned a month or so ago) - Macedo appeared on the cover of "Sit Down" by James. Why a Manchester band had a Fulham goalie on their single artwork isn't recorded to history.

Banana's there to be shot at, but a lot of the paths to victory for other teams are... stony shall we say. Of the current top X: Plan B from Outer Space has one-hit winning paths with Black Bart, Steve Gaines, Denis Law, Dolph Lundgren, Dutch Mantell, Patrick Murray and Linda Nolan It's A Grim World After All has one-hit winning paths with Theo Burrell, Noam Chomsky, Stephen Darby, Janey Godley, Erik Jensen, Dikembe Mutumbo David Quantick's Showbiz Pals only has one one-hit winning path - David Elmore Smith Southerner's Stiffs has (I think) only one one-hit winning path with Mel Schilling The Sound of the Underground has (I think) one one-hit winning path with Joe Doering (they'd win on lower average age of hits at a mental calculation) I think that's it for people who can currently claim top spot with one death. Of course, Banana can easily increase their lead (Graham Caveney probably their best hope of that) and render all these irrelevant.

Can easily, easily see it being some absolute no-mark like Murray or Barenboim, and then Carter dies 24 hours later.

I prayed for the death of Shannon Doherty many times and I felt bad every time I did it but I kept doing it anyway. Now I know you understood everything. Praise Jesus, hallelujah.

A deeply troubled man who was treated awfully by the media of his day. Still, at least he gave his name to this banger:

Tomas Seyler, former German #1, dead at 49. Played at the Worlds four times, and upset Jamie Harvey in 2006. More recently a commentator for the arrers in his homeland.

Screamer Tshabalala dead at 75 from gunshot wound complications following a break-in at his house earlier this year.

Scavenger Hunt is unironically the pool I want to win most these days, but won't be able to submit a team until much later in the month (and even then it's going to be scrappy, really strapped for time all summer).

Sure she'll (eventually) make it to the Morning Star (and probably The Guardian), but in the meantime: Yahoo QO for Jane McAlevey: https://uk.news.yahoo.com/jane-mcalevey-driving-force-labor-100022799.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall

Italo disco should probably go in here? Anyway, Pino D'Angio, Italian musical icon who sang probably the genre's finest hour - "Ma Quale Idea" - dead at 71.

Absolutely tedious few days. Only three blue-linked deaths yesterday: Uruguayan footballer with two caps, Red Star Belgrade reserve team defender of the 80s with no international caps, and an Indian actress who retired 63 years ago.

Twelve years ago she had DLers excited because of her breast cancer (which has since gone into remission following a mastectomy). Now the woman who? Put? Valley girl? Speech patterns? On the map? In the 80s? Has been diagnosed with MS. Not fatal in of itself, but it's definitely a pattern of bad health. Weird noting that it's now two-thirds of the lead cast of The Sweetest Thing that have come down with MS in the past few years, following Selma Blair. Let's solemnly mark that with this seminal classic moment from that film:

His official Instagram account put out a "thanks for all the birthday wishes" post on June 6, so presumably it's the former option:

Liora Argamani, mother of a (former) Israeli hostage who would probably have been a popular DDP pick under the old rules, dead at 61.
