The story I heard, which he doesn't go into in detail there, is that John Parrott told him he'd lost his cue "so my opponent's probably worth a bet" as a joke, thinking he'd put £20 on him to lose, rather than £38,000.

Honestly think Thorne should have the Eddie Large/Frank Bough "not that old, his illnesses aren't that terminal but Jesus Christ this man is a shambles health-wise" spot on next year's Deathlist.

Fantastic story this. The fact he was working as a chemical technician makes it even better, as well as him claiming he had no idea he'd been reported dead and his wife was behind the whole scheme.

You would have guessed Oddie, Garden, TBT as the death order five years ago.

Weird that the Goodies are probably going to die in the reverse order that you would have once predicted.

If we're throwing quizzes out there, I wrote our work's Christmas quiz last year... I can offer ten questions up from it now and if anyone's interested more as and when. Who is the first talking animal Alice comes across in “Alice In Wonderland”? What is the only word beginning with the letter “K” in the title of a James Bond film. There are 19 versions of the “Real Housewives” reality TV franchise in total. Which was the first? Hint: it’s where both John Wayne and Richard Nixon died. Which mythological character, first created for an internet Photoshop contest in 2009, is usually depicted as being a tall, suit-wearing male with no face and tentacles for arms? Which haircut - named after an item of crockery - is officially designated by the Anti-Defamation League as a symbol of white supremacy? Notable sporters of the haircut include Henry V and Moe Howard from the Stooges Which artform links the names Vivian Maier, Cecil Beaton and Weegie? The group of relatively young women of color progressive politicians known as “The Squad” consists of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rachida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar... and who else? She was the first black woman elected to Congress for Massacheussets. What name is shared by the Jamaican-born Marxist sociologist who co-founded the New Left Review, and the disgraced BBC sports commentator who went to prison in 2013 after pleading guilty to 17 counts of sexual assault on women under the age of 16? The only English league football team who play in a constituency that voted Liberal Democrat at the 2017 election play in the constituency of Kingston and Surbiton. Which football team is it? The main character of which sitcom had 66 sexual partners during the show’s run, including paramours played by Courtney Cox, Debra Messing, Teri Hatcher, Sarah Silverman and Janeane Garofalo. -

Must have been very, very sudden: she was still tweeting as of yesterday:

Former Bologna president (and subsequent honorary "president for life") Giuseppe Gazzoni Frascara dead at 84. Was behind their stunning climb from bankruptcy in the third tier to that Robert Baggio/Giuseppe Signori side of the late 90s that nearly won the UEFA Cup, and was also one of the main finger-pointers at Juventus during calciopoli.

Fred the Godson's death from COVID-19 makes him the fourth XXL Freshman cover star to die, following Mac Miller, XXXtentacion and Nipsey Hussle. Four down, 120 to go.

Those with even a base interest in the weird side of video games should be aware of the legendary Action 52 cartridge, widely regarded as one of the worst video games of all time. The guy who was behind it - Vince Perri - had no history in video games before or after, so perhaps it's unsurprising his death went unnoticed by pretty much everyone in 2012.

So former Liverpool and Scotland clogger Dominic Matteo has just left intensive care after operations on a brain tumour. 2020's Liam Miller or 2020's John Hartson?
-
Genson definitely a death that would have QO'd had it not been for COVID-19 taking up 90% of press resources.

GILFian Anderson giving a handjob to an aubergine was the only good part of Sex Education and you can watch that in gif form online rather than bother with the whole show. -
Also told George Lazenby there was no future in James Bond films and he should quit the series after one movie.
