    Ringo Starr?

    Charlotte Rae

Interview on Gilbert Gottfriend's Amazing Colossal Podcast this week. One of the more doddery guests they've had on so far, but you draw your own conclusions.

    Football

    Best sport in the world.

    Shimon Peres

Times of Israel would, presumably, be a reliable source here, and they reckon it's a matter of hours not days.

    The 100 Club

101-year-old "Battle of Cable Street" veteran and former Communist councillor Max Levitas can be added to your list of "guaranteed centenarian obits". He's taking part in an event to make 80 years since Cable Street next month.

    Dead Pop Stars

Just to brag, he was on my draft 2017 team without a QO worry. Figured he had enough Grammy love to get an AP/Reuters obit.

    Last Word

This is all just leading up to the DDP/DL podcast, huh?

    Disc Jockeys

Splitting radio DJs from "club" DJs could lead us to use the perfect tagline for a thread about DJs/electronica/rave artists: "Sick drops"

    Monty Python

Terry Jones suffering from primary progressive aphasia, no longer able to give interviews.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2017

So desperate to start a CJ De Mooi thread but I don't want to become the new joeyruss.

    Andy Fordham Memorial Darts Thread

Gerry Haywood, one of Yorkshire's better players of the early 80s, dead at 70. He made the quarter-finals of the 1983 British Professional, knocking out Keith Deller before coming up against Eric Bristow.

Nice pic of the hacks gathering outside the hospital Chirac's in:

    Derby Dead Pool 2016

It doesn't reward "fame" per se, rather "fame of illness". Remember, Dr Granger and Joey Feek would both have earned these "fame" bonuses this year, as would Lauren Hill last year.

Lovely photo of X-Pac and Billy Gunn at the height of DX's WWF fame.

    (C)Rappers

Shawty Lo killed in a car accident at 41. Scholars of hip-hop will remember his 2008 hit "Dey Know".

    Jacques Chirac

AFP reporting his family asking to "respect their privacy at this time". If he's not dead, I don't think he'll be seeing the weekend. Hollande's plane lands in Paris in an hour, should have a definitive answer then.

    Jacques Chirac

Former French government minister has tweeted saying so.

Big rumours going around the newsroom he's carked it.

    Death Anniversary Thread

A strong nominee for greatest character actor of all-time, Walter Brennan took his curtain call at Cactus Creek today in 1974.

    Derby Dead Pool 2016

Strategy implications of this switch won't be a wholescale switch from Hassan Asifs to Zsa Zsa Gabors, but rather when it comes to 60/40 picks it will be wiser to go with the more famous: Howard Marks rather than Paul Cox, for instance.

    Jim Carrey

Could we say that Davey Jones' Locker is... talking out of his arse?

    Last Word

Bahman Golbarnezhad and Charmian Carr are my wild card picks.

    Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Kind of both tbh. It does celebrate drag culture in all forms and pays suitable tribute to LGBT history and cultural milestones, but on the other hand a lot of Frankenstein-editing goes on to ensure that certain contestants are portrayed in somewhat unflattering lights. Anyway, here's season 6's Snatch Game.
