So both hosts of Wipeout in the UK are now dead, as is the guy who presented it in the US. Just the Australian representative left now.

Says a lot about the diminishing standards of light entertainment in this country that when Tommy Cooper died it was prime time entertainment for the whole family, yet Daniels just slumps away unfilmed at home.

So what you're saying is he never played in the World Cup?

Guardian has it already: http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/mar/15/asa-briggs-historian-higher-education-pioneer-dies-age-94 I can't go into reasons because work related, but, well, good riddance. You run a health food store?

Well, it revolved around the fact that police drug busts are never done at 11am in the morning, when the suspect could be out and about, you do a drug raid at 4am when they're going to be asleep and the whole neighbourhood won't see a fucking police van and riot squad pull up. I think the implication is that the raid was done at the behest of another, much bigger, drug lord in the area to take Smiley out of action. And then, of course, he happened to accidentally stab himself. -

Noticing a big increase in tangential Mother Angelica chat on social media recently, possibly a sign that death is very very very close and various religious writers are getting their stories ready? -

At this point in 2013, he had around 75 points. Mind you, at this point in 2013, you were, what? 30-40 points behind the leaders? I was absolutely dead in the water this time in 2013, it wasn't until Andrew Millwall and Giulio Andreotti both died on the same day that I thought I could save myself from utter disgrace (May 6), and not until Bruno Metsu carked it (October 14) that I even started to think I had a chance of winning

Also, missed this from a December interview with Howie:

Well, that episode also featured Gerard McSorley as Father Ted Unctious, who was in "War Horse" with Tony Pitts (Google the face, uber-character actor) who was in Powder (2011) (never heard of it) with Johnny Marr.

Certainly looks like it, although police haven't given 100% confirmation yet.

He has "five months at Leeds United" written all over him, let's be honest.

Not much in the way of Diski updates recently, although we did learn that she is in the mood for walnut cake and that her least favourite Louis Malle film is Zazie dans le métro.

The only great stand-up comedian the British Isles have ever produced, Dave Allen, said goodnight, thank you and may your God go with you today in 2005. -
Your contribution to this forum is immense and you will clearly be rewarded in the next life. Hopefully very soon.
