DQSP gets on the board for 2016, the important of a strong start should not be underestimated. -
Diski's Twitter is increasingly deranged in recent weeks, but maybe that's just standard procedure for LRB writers.
-
Yeah, I presume I wasn't alone in pencilling him in as a definite joker before putting a bit more research in.

Mark B, of "& Blade" early 2000s corny UK hip-hop fame, confirmed dead. BREAK THE BARRIERS THAT PERSIST TO CLIMB.

Guessing this won't be an everlasting singer

I can't believe I wrote that! He was that bad. Anyway, he's gone now- all hail Martin O' Neil (one L, two L's? Who cares?) And so is Doug Ellis! Gone! Not dead and thereby giving me any points in Weatherman's/ or is Gunjaman's pool, but he's gone! As of midnight last night it was official and Randy Lerner (not Robin Asquith in Confessions of a Driving Insrtuctor) is now Villa's new chairman. Who gives a sh*t I hear you collectively cry? I do, as does half of B6 Birmingham. The dark days of Ellis are gone! Yahoo! Yeehah! Now all I want is a place in the front of a queue when they pull Doug's name down off the Witton Road stand. The vain tosser, I could never believe he did that. Wahey! Bye bye Doug! I don't care if you are immortal now- have a good, long life- live to be a 1000, I don't give a crap, not now you're out of Villa Park, you stone age bastard. Whoops.

The Deathlist Gets Franchised

My mum will be pissed if Andrea Camilleri goes. -
Are people talking Phil Gartside's "illness" seriously then? It struck me as a classic "welp, I've got Bolton into massive financial shit and everyone hates me, better find an excuse to vanish from the public eye for a few months" deal.
-
Did see Underwood talking to Kris Travis on Twitter the other week about PICC lines, which was a nice alternate universe version of the DDP.

Right, as I was saying before I closed the browser tab for some dumb reason, those who were cut by me at the last minute and could come back to bite me on the proverbial: Jake Bailey - New Zealand student whose graduation speech got big media coverage due to being so "inspirational". Was originally considered as a captain pick by me, but then if you read beyond the "weeks to live" headlines he has a form of cancer that has a good two-three years prognosis. John Underwood - Food blogger, would normally struggle to obit but he is the son-in-law of former Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger. Make it 50/50 that he goes this year and his young age mean I am going to be annoyed if I picked the wrong 50. Mark Nuthren - Cancer sufferin' friend of one of Girls Aloud. As with Louise Plowright, I took the view that if they're paying £100k for treatment, they must have some hope that they'll still be here in 2k17 Karel Gott - Cheesy Czech singer, sold 55 million records worldwide and very popular with his country's former Communist rulers. However, I feel like I can't call a pick in based solely on Google Translate. Angus Ross - Darts player, made the last 16 of the 1982 BDO Worlds, but a completely disappearance into obscurity, coupled with the fact that no obit sources have a full-time darts journalist, mean he'll almost certainly not obit. He will be dead within weeks though. Olly Croft - Talking of the olden days of darts, the man who killed the BDO (pending) has been hospitalised twice this year. If the BBC dropping Lakeside this year desn't finish him off, nothing will. Owen Jones' dad, Ian Michael Black's mother, Eva Mendes' brother: Assorted celeb family members. In order: probably not far enough along in his battle to be dying, almost certainly won't obit unless IMB has a big film roll that means he'll do endless interviews this year, and I could find fuck all about his condition following diagnosis. AB Bardhan - Indian communist party leader, probably is going but I hate to back-load my team with those past a certain age.
-
Surprisingly (to me), the only one of those I didn't know was ill is Luke Halpin. Must say something about doing even a modicum of research or something. Brinson/Christie/Ellis/Fekete were all cut from my final list of forty or so. Brinson due to a choice of candidates, Christie because I couldn't find out how bad his cancer was, Ellis because there was rumours he's doing better. Halpin and Mother Angelica were my predictions for uniques this year, Halpin's illness I stumbled across by total fluke and if it's as bad as it sounds then he's a goner in 2016 and surely a definite obit.

Did I forget to hit "send" earlier on or did one of my posts get deleted?

You're in the big boy leagues now Creeps, knuck if ya buck

No, the widespread coverage of his case in the Daily Mail, Guardian and BBC, as well as the media publication I work for and edit copy at, did.
-
I honestly had it in my head that he died about 15 years ago.

Fucking hell, that's a late time to make a replacement. Definitely a wipeout for a lot of teams with their eye on the title.

http://www.gilbertgottfried.com/podcast.php Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast is perfect for anyone who cares about the history of Hollywood, and particularly which actors were anti-semites and/or had massive cocks. The most recent episode, In Memoriam 2015, is perfect for deadpoolers.

Been through your Moleskine with a series of coloured markers to differentiate the various types of cancer your possibles have yet? Or are you gonna block off the entirety of December to scour every single football forum in the vain hope you'll catch a former Bradford winger who has just fell into a diabetic coma?

Prefer "Infinity" to any Motorhead track, ngl. RIP big man.
