    Shaw Taylor

I know a guy who works at the Express. My favourite Desmond story is that he once got so angry with someone who worked in sales that he banned him from wearing a belt in the office as punishment, so he had to keep hitching his trousers up every time he walked more than 15 yards. Nice guy. Very emotionally stable.

How many Channel 5 viewers even remember him or the original show?? I don't know about the original show but if they remembered how to use the remote control they wouldn't be watching Channel 5. It used to have the odd interesting non-imported show but since Dirty Desmond got his mitts on it there's hardly been a single original programme on there Well someone's going to look a little stupid after reading what I just found on Wikipedia:

    From Cleric To Relic

Yeah, I went long about Schuller because I was concerned about obit choices, but looking at it now he seems to be an obvious "rushed Daily Mail online obituary an hour after he dies" kinda guy. Anyone who picked him should make their way to the counter now.

Babs was never going to get a next-day obituary in England. Wait a couple of weeks, you'll probably get an Independent 1/4-page obit.

Get a life, be cool like me posting to a message board about Shirley Temple's death. *puts on sunglasses and does three bunny hops on his Raleigh Chopper*

    Shirley Temple

You really had to revive a thread that's almost a decade old just to say that, didn't you? I don't see anything wrong with this old thread being bumped. I mean, Shirley Temple is one of the biggest icons of the 1930's that's still around. She's in her mid-80's and would be a very profilic hit if she was selected for the Death list 2014. She's rarely seen in public so her current health is a bit of a mystery to us. Get a load of this guy!

Georgina Henry, former deputy editor of The Guardian, dead at 53. She was also the launch editor of Comment Is Free, so it's not exactly a loss.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2015

Every time I catch the Stars In Their Eyes repeats (and it's hard to imagine that as recently as 1991 we had both blacking-up AND Leslie Crowther as acceptable Saturday night TV entertainment) I google the episode winners, and they're all fucking dead as well.

Philippe Mahut, part of the France side that came fourth in 1982, dead at 57. Was presumably a bit of a pin-up back in his day:

Well, Reeve died of sepsis from a pressure ulcer as a result of being in a wheelchair, so idk if there's any real comparison?

    Seen Any Good Films Lately?

Watched the 2008 Chilean laugh-a-minute flick "Tony Manero" at the weekend, which uses a string of murders committed by a man obsessed with "Saturday Night Fever" as an allegory for Pinochet-era Fascism. One of the most unnerving films I've seen in a long time.
