A very divisive figure and one who has clearly outlived any serious support he once enjoyed. He fought and lost a case about the use of flat that belongs to the NUM not too long ago. I was struck by his absence from the discussion. In fact, a lot of coverage tended to act as if he was dead. They've dug up a few old enemies (like Ken Livingstone and Kinnock). The militants, Derek Hatton and Scargill, might just have been too incendiary for the last 24 hours. Derek Hatton's a property developer and motivational speaker nowadays, he's pretty much heelturned on socialism.

Does this count? -
"The lady is for interring", surely?

She's put it back on again, via a few cheeky bargain buckets and Zinger Towers. Entertainingly, The Sun lists this under "Scottish News". Time for your monthly Georgia Davis update, and this could be your last: she's "fighting for her life" and requires assisted breathing.

Perennial heavyweight contender Carl "The Truth" Williams dead of Å“sophagal cancer at 53. He fought pretty much every major name of his day - Tyson, Bruno, Holmes, Morrison, Witherspoon - and lost to them all. He was robbed against Holmes, though.

Thanks for the heads-up, m8.

We'll all go together when he goes.

Ah, it was ivy, not a hedge.

Be sure to check out the 2006 documentary "A Man Named Pearl" about the "inspiring topiary artist" Pearl Fryar.

Didn't Kendo Nagasaki get arrested once for cutting down his neighbour's hedge?

Still flogging his pickled onions in Sainsburys.

Anyway, two thumbs down. Way down.

Fucking hell that was quick. We sure he didn't off himself?

The Daily Mail's angle on the story is that her toenails are in poor condition. For those of you who aren't down with the youth like me, you may have missed Ms Bynes tweeting that she wanted Drake to "murder her vagina". Wonder if he'll move onto the rest of her after that?

Eh, anyone who is going to die "in the public eye" should get a thread, I always thought. I've never been one for all the "Chilean Sci-Fi Actors" or "Famous Topiarist" threads that get set up around here, but with Banks you're going to get "the final interview", pre-obits from other dudes, An Honest Report Of What It's Like To Die written by him in The Guardian, etc etc etc.

If he makes it to 2014 he's gonna be the joker of this entire forum, right?

Let's see our mate Jezza with a man sure to be getting some DDP action in 2014, Mick Philpott: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8z8ygrDSWU

Karen Muir, who in 1965 became the youngest ever person to hold an official sporting world record (110-yard backstroke at the age of 12), has died aged 60. Like Jack Pardee, a few have gambled on her getting an obit for the DDP this year.

Ever heard of "Buckwild"? Apparently the MTV reality show "follows the lives of nine young adults in Sissonville, West Virginia and Charleston, West Virginia, who each have a great love for the small-town American life and seemingly create their own unique ways to enjoy life in the rural area surrounding them". Me neither. Anyway, they're going to need to find a new main castmember for the next series, as the show's "star" Shain "Candy" Gandee has been found dead in his car.
