    Ideas And Possibilities For 2012

That's the kind of optimism we like to see on here. The kind of dickhead who would pre-record the commentary of his own funeral... One identical sealed box.

I know **** all about handegg, but... Joe Paterno. That doesn't strike me as a man who will be living too much longer.

Sportsmen dropping like flies today, Burnley hall of famer and former Leeds United manager Jimmy Adamson has died at 82.

    Smokin' Joe Frazier

We're going to end up in 2012 without a single gimme pick at this rate.

    Smokin' Joe Frazier

Hey, you get ten posts in one specific thread, you get your own specialised thread, that's my rule.

    Christopher Hitchens

Bad news for white people, the "who can feel more smug about not believing in God" talk-off between Hitchens and Stephen Fry has been cancelled as Hitchens has been struck down with pneumonia and will not be able to fly. Hitch's place will be taken, inevitably, by Richard Dawkins. As a side thought: Douglas Adams, Linda Smith and Stephen Jay Gould were all struck down at a young age, and Hitchens and Terry Pratchett are both on the way out. Is being a professional Outspoken Atheist a good way of ensuring you won't live to see 65? Should we be shortlisting Dawkins and Ricky ******* Gervais for our teams next year?

    Political Frailty

    Well, that's handicapped everyone's 2012 line-ups then. What a selfish prick.

    Pierre Cardin

The BBC rolling out the red carpet for his 89th bday. Apparently he's never smoked before and he still drives (a Renault 5). That's about the level of insight here.

    The Dead Of 2011

Bad news for the legions of third-wave ska fans that inhabit this board, as the founder of the Vans shoe company, James Van Doren, has died at 72.

    Dead Pop Stars

GWAR guitarist Flattus Maximus has died. He claimed to have come from a planet made entirely from cannabis called "Pot", and that he'd destroyed his home planet by smoking it all.

Perhaps the most fitting and beautiful obituary on the great man.

Controversial opinion: Zohn will get British media coverage for his death on account of the Daily Mail website chasing US readership hits.

    Jimmy Savile

The email I posted last night is fake, btw, but it spread like wildfire back in.... I wanna say 2000 but it might have been later. It was circulated in an attempt at conning journalists into printing fake "wicked whisper"stories and apparently it worked. Anyway, nice little piece by Louis Theroux on his time filming with Jimmy.

Never forget this classic of 2000-era internetting.

This. 100x this. It still annoys me that the tagline for dead rappers isn't "Ready to Die/Life After Death".
