Two bits about Russ Francis that Diego didn't mention. He won the Superbowl in 1984. I feel like every superbowl winner is a guaranteed DDP QO nowadays, which wasn't the case a few years ago. And he was in the Wrestlemania 2 NFL Vs WWF battle royal.

Nessun Dorma was massive in the nineties. One of the zeitgeist tunes of the era, Pavarotti was doing packed stadiums in the UK. He was getting radio play next to Take That, and played at school discos. This sounds like I'm taking the piss but I'm not. Blame the World Cup.
-
Back in December I decided that McDougall was less seriously ill than Frank McGarvey and so only picked the latter in the DDP. I guess I was correct...by nine months!
-
That, and new folk might be persuaded to join in.
-
Ah, glad she's going to get a suitably grand @Death Impends obit then.
-
He was on my team for so much of December but he looked like he had another year in him. FFS in advance.
-
Plus McCallum plus Snow (who is de facto gone) = 233. The record is 280. 47 to go, in 93 days. And with several of the big hitters on the DDP somehow still going too.

As with far too many things these days, the mindless cruelty is the point.

That's what I thought too, and tbh, in the time it took you to remember that system, you could just, you know, get better at chess instead? -
Agreeing with all the previous comments about what a legend he was. To have at least three different iconic TV roles and roles in two all time classics. Not a bad career. He'll always be Steel to me. My condolences, @Ulitzer95.

Dabney? Good fun in it, sadly the story is one of the weak 90s stories. They cast Shera Danese as the co -villain, she must have been sleeping with someone to get that role.
-
Having looked up Miss Cardwell she's been in at least sixty episodes of what sounds like horrific TV shows. So as the ffbi bar pioneer she'd have qualified for the Cup and the DDP when I cohosted. Sympathies if you miss out here. Now where did I put a pen and paper to take a note of the name...

He says he's in robust health but he always struck me as someone only the Reaper would retire.
-
Alongside these imaginary government policies he's abandoned, he's also stopping the cull of unicorns, banning time travel for kids, and ending the war with the Martians. What a guy.
-
His health wasn't up to it, don't know anything more specific than that.

People let their kids get YouTube, instagram and TikTok and push products to other kids, gaining millions of subscribers from fellow kids in the process. As a parent, I'm very much a "over my dead body" to kids getting their own YouTube etc. Of course they think its cool. They're kids. A responsible adult has to put the foot down and look after their health/well being etc first.

Anti-freeze in the wine? That is a serious crime! I can't pretend to know him for anything other than that one scene.
-
Ah yes, Angela Scanlon is the Irish redhead with the short skirts on House of Games and Pointless. No idea why that stuck with me...
-
Him or Leigh Francis.
-
Amanda Abington I know from Sherlock and other stuff, and Anabel Croft from the tennis. Think Angela Scanlon been on House of Games. Still, you're probably less out of touch than me!

Sorry for your loss, OoO, sounds like a fascinating character.

The forum was new in 2003 (citing Grim Reaper here, this was before I found the forum googling who the fuck Randy Pausch was iirc!), The front page has gone through a variety of changes though. From 2009 to 2016 it was the best layout imo. You could check variations on the front page going back to the nineties (when it was the only page) but the Wayback Machine is currently having kittens and crashing.

A regular for my notable oldies team but if any of the DDP politics theme teams want to transfer him in they can let me know and it'll free up a space on my team!
-
She's less famous than Maddy from The Traitors who once played a homeless woman on Eastenders. (Actually that was going to be my joke line, but the Traitors mystic has three times the Instagram followers that this poor dead woman has, whoever she was.)

I mean, after this many years watching the DL I can't rule out Grim Reaper having a drink in late December, putting on Sky Arts, seeing that recent Alain Delon documentary and bunging him on DL2024. In fact that feels more realistic than Bernadette.
