I thought Vajpayee would have been a score in this game, but it turns out the born in 1924 former Indian strongman was just too young...

Not at all, I was tempted to pick The Eagle Has Landed, but I'm not convinced any of the living cast are in a great hurry to go yet, thankfully.

Political Discussions And Ranting Thread
msc replied to Deathray's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Well, I understand the concept of politics being populated by egotistical lying narcissists with good PR to their base because they tell it like it is or there's a conspiracy against them (delete as applicable) is utterly alien to US politics... -
2nd January 2019. Joker of 100 DDP teams, leading to much gnashing of Spade's teeth. Especially when Vervoort, Ricketts, Ricksen and Prince Philip all die on the 3rd...

Hope yer all geared up for 9th October, the 34th anniversary of the first UK showing of Thomas and Gordon. You know, his big claim to fame!

Yeah, few months back - was sure it was on one of those archive year long stays but must have just been the 30 days, damn. And yeah, the original is the best. I like how his villainy (as opposed to political scheming) only shows up by slow degrees and by the time its out right murder the audience has been suckered in to quite liking Urquhart. Whereas Spacey played the same role with too much knowing vaudeville sneering at the audience imo.

I was going to suggest Atlanta (this new comedy about rappers and racism - much better than I make it sound) but its been taken off Iplayer. As has Inside no 9. Boo to that. Hmm, the original (and best) House of Cards 4-parter with Ian Richardsons on Iplayer too. As is Quatermass and the Pit, and all 13 episodes of Civilisation which is one of the all time great documentary series.

Carve Her Name With Pride (1958) stars Virginia McKenna (b. 1931) Andre Maranne (b. 1926) George Mikell (b. 1929) Yep, even here I can sneak in a Dr Who alumnus!

^ Can you blame him? Got images of Spade in this years DDP like an injured footballer kicking every ball on the touchline frustrated.

If they'd like to spoil the results of my 2019 shortlist on December 31st, that'll do me.

B Brian Blair, now President of the Cauliflower Club, confirms Niedhart's death to Slam/Canoe Sports.

Who? Look, someone was going to go for it.... Nah, sad news. The Hart Foundation (greatest stable ever) down to one man left now (Bret).

People tend to go "Oh vegetarian, it must be peaceful" and get caught out by how quick a hippo can be. Also, jaws that can snap a croc in two. iirc there's more deaths per year from hippo attacks than crocs/gators/sharks combined. Brilliant creature, though.

^ This guy's aide during the 90s, dies a few weeks later.

Woken up a bit out of it unwell, mistook that for a QO for a second. Thought "man, the bar really has lowered for wrestlers if they're cover wrestlers I've never even heard of..."

Could be worse, I was going to make a crap joke, only to check the previous mention and find Dead Wait already made it, verbatim.
