A QO for McGiffin. Sims has obits on ITV, Evening Standard and the Scotsman. There's no BBC obit yet despite him getting an on air radio tribute. Very strange.
-
I've entered, even though I don't understand the rules. Though seemingly half my team have died since.
-
He had a car crash in late December 99 and was in a bad way according to the main page, but 2000 was back when the DDP only had about 30 hits a year. Notably as soon as the Deathlist wins the DDP, the hit rate shoots up and there's only one non DDP/Deathlist crossover hit after that.
-
And all of the Deathlist 50 for 2017 are picked in the 2017 DDP.
-
As asked for elsewhere, Deathlist picks since 1996 that weren't a DDP hit. 1996 – Glyn Worsnip, Timothy Leary, 1997 – Hastings Banda, Burgess Meredith, Jeffrey Bernard, Jacques Cousteau 1998 – Lew Grade, Joan Hickson, Helen Wills Moody 1999 - Quentin Crisp, Deryck Guyler, Alf Ramsey, Lord Denning 2000 – Don Budge, 2001 – Brother Theodore, Stanley Kramer 2002 –W Clement Stone, Joe Bonanno, Chuck Jones 2003 – Elia Kazan, Hardy Amies 2004 – Lord Scarman 2009 – Vincent O’Brien

You're on, msc.... I'll bow to DI for now but that is an interesting one.

My skepticism re her health has done a Reg Presley on her!
-
Joint top because I forgot all about her. It's usually the other way round.

"Hope they die" person, "please may this list stay a 0" person, Joey - you only need a random poet and BCAlum to show up, and you're spoiled for choice for 2017's gimmick of the year award...

I do think Labour are, to put it succinctly, a bit fucked just now, but theres more pressure on UKIP for this by-election imo. Everyone and their dog expects Labour to lose, but if UKIP can't win a seat here in the most favourable conditions for them, might as well stick a fork in their electability.

He's already counted in the numbers, and just like that, in the names too.

My original prediction for this year is bollocks with the reveal of the Drop 40, etc, so here's a redraft. Predicted 2017 Top twenty Based on the following people getting obits:

Me on Vera Caslavska, 2016: January: Oh fuck, DDT has her! Feb: Nah, she had that op. April: Doing well. See? Knew it was a good decision. July: Oh fuck. August: fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck September: Oh well, these things happen. -

Bonnie Brown was one of those I was thinking about. Most of them I became aware of before they died. The exception was LaTourette, who went from "recovering from Whipple nicely" to "dead" within 2 months with very little warning in between! -

^ to the above A) That's probably for the best. Newspapers tend to be full of shite. B/ Very true, actually. Hyperbole to prove the point, but true none the less. C) Actually didn't I moan about doctor salaries recently? Deja vu here. D)  Spoken like a true Scot there. -

It's far too early in the year to call a pick a mistake. I second guessed 7 of my eventual hits at points during 2016! Whereas one of my "locks" only got an obit today. -

It started roughly around the time the younger posters started asking for advice and got it... -

Right... Is your depression on record at the uni? If not, get it on record ASAP, via doctor's note or speaking to the uni GP services or whatever options are open at your particular uni. That counts as a mitigating circumstance, which allows you to repeat if need be, or go part-time. From general experience, if you've got to Masters level, you've got something about you more than the average student, be it grades or ability to schmooze money men (and don't discount the later)... If you do still need to drop out, remember you can always return. I know folk who dropped out during Honours in a mess, and are now, with time passed, in their PHD after returning to uni as a mature student. If you re-break a thing it takes forever to recover. Is it an accumulation of things ie uni stress, depression/anxiety and knees? If so, the latter two being treated will help the other. Assuming they are, with time. Assuming they are, history is full of dead people who assumed the risks of drinking on painkillers/antidepressants didn't apply to them. I'd advise against following in their footsteps - after all, who'd run Death by Numbers? (That's a joke...) I had to repeat a year at uni on health grounds, and things turned out OK-ish. PS Do try and get some sleep. That wont be helping. -
5 people went for Carol in the DDP - convinced at least one mistook which sister was ill.
-
Actually, it's RadGuy who's up top because he had Snuka, Sims joker, and McGiffin. I think that's 43 points if I calculated that correctly. So, it's To Kill a Gabor Sister (and Everyone else in the vicinity) then.
-
I think you wanted the Deathrace there, joey!
-
Think that puts some young up and comer called David Quantick's Showbiz Pals top of the DDP?

End of January. 31st, midnight. The second we're in February (UK time) it's done.
