    British Science Fiction Series

Reports that TV actor Philip Bond (Avengers, Dr Who, Onedin Line) and dad of Samantha Bond has died aged 82.

    The Deathlist Cup

The trash talking begins, I see! Awesome. Yeah, I thought it would, but then, I do recall OoO being accused of having the potential to nab other folks picks when he ran the DDP, so if he can be suspected by suspicious deadpoolers, anyone can. I would have asked a trusty DDPer to keep a copy by PM - possibly YW - but truth be told, I completely forgot about that at the time and its a bit late now!

    Ian St John

Interview in the Herald about thumping Rangers back in the 60s ahead of another Rangers/Motherwell Cup tie. Says nothing about his cancer. I suspect he's of the age where, having given us the hints, the next we'll hear about it is him being in hospital or dead. The link obviously isn't the Herald, but that's behind a paywall, so there's a free version for those interested.

    The Deathlist Cup

Yes. Double disqualification. Though they will be given several reminders as we get close to the deadline.

    The Deathlist Cup

Believe it or not, those were the six names which came up with the List Randomiser. I had thought of "arranging" the byes as suggested by others (which would have been announced of course), but the coincidence tickled me and made that seem unnecessary. Besides, fair play to Rover, not someone I'd immediately think of giving a Bye to, but that's the luck of the draw for you.

    The Deathlist Cup

I made the draw. Then Pedro joined in, so I need to scrap it and re-draw. Both times, I wound up drawn against you! Sometimes you can't avoid fate. Hah.

    The Deathlist Cup

It's a random draw so the winner of Grim Up North vs Joey Russ, for example, can meet any of the other fifteen qualifiers for Round 2.

    The Deathlist Cup

Right, we have 26 entrants, which means the first round will involve 20 players. These 20 will take part in 10 one on one ties, and the 10 winners from Round 1 will meet 6 competitors with byes in Round 2 for the Final 16, then Quarterfinals and so on. A draw of the names on Random.org gave us the following six people who have received BYES to the Second Round. Spade Cooley Bibliogryphon Death Impends DDT Deadsox Roverandout

    The Deathlist Cup

See in that case its just a waste of a spot on your team, because it wont be counted short of them turning up dead and clearly dead within 2017 in that month. Whereas 1, 2 and 4 are very obvious no-gos (as generally accepted by everyone on here in every single fucking deadpool) and 3 will guarantee mocking.

    The Deathlist Cup

    1. No Kids (thats under the age of 18) 2. No executions (death row candidates only score if they die via other causes, heart attack or what not) 3. No pet dogs or other animals, humans only 4. No ISIS prisoners Or "fucking duh" as I was tempted to put it.

Who Will Win The Derby Dead Pool In 2017?

To Kill a Mockingbird - classic novel To Kill a Talking Bird - Frasier episode To Kill a Gabor Sister - DDP team. Makes perfect sense to me. Anyhow, the idea of swapping the Mockingbird in the Harper Lee for Zsa Zsa really cracked me up when I first saw it.

    Football

Watching the African Nations cup on Eurosport. Wife: That manager looks fucked, is he on the Deathlist? Apparently it's Claude Le Roy, and he looks more like a typical 69 year old French guy struggling with circa 30C temperatures. She keeps asking me if folk are on the Deathlist (or DDP, but she mixes the two up) all of a sudden.

Who Will Win The Derby Dead Pool In 2017?

Funny you say that, because it was! When I first made the poll it had 10 options + other. Then joeyruss suggested two more teams, bringing the total to 12 options + other. But because of my OCD having to make this poll in alphabetical order, it meant that a team e.g. in option #7 would move down to #9 to make room for the new options. So, although I originally voted for The Living End, it switched to Pan Breed by mistake. Sorry. Not at all, it was the only logical explanation. I mean, not even I am voting for me!

Who Will Win The Derby Dead Pool In 2017?

I'm assuming someone voted for me by accident. I think it'll be a rare win for David Quantick Showbiz Pals.

    Donald J Trump

Tangent alert: Reminded a bit of the time Sabrina the Teenage Witch's Aunt started dating her school teacher. She says "I'll try and be nice to him" as she opens the door, he says "good evening" and she goes "Right, that's my tolerance shot" and runs away. *checks Wiki* Hmm, apparently Martin Mull is still going at 73... /tangent

8th year of MND, though. He's an outlier now.

    Time Added

Carlos Alberto (Silva). This time its the one who managed Porto in the early 90s and won the Portuguese league. Also managed Brazil for a year in 87/88, crashing out of the Copa America with a 4-0 loss to Chile.

Looking further, can't imagine a case like Ruben Kruger (nailed on QO, terminal brain cancer, 39, internationally famous) would be entirely missed by the DDP these days!
  22. msc

    Joost Van Der Westhuizen

Thanks for that, Spade! So 2 winners down, and Joost looking a good bet to be the third, and second from the same team then.

    Derby Dead Pool 2017

Hans Breuckhoven has died according to Dutch reports. Not the List of the Missed, as Diana Rots has him this year, but surely a future List of the Lost pick...

How many rugby world cup winners have died? I know Lomu was in that final too, but he never won the cup, iirc.

    The Deathlist Cup

PM the first eleven (plus subs in case of early topplers) to me, I keep them quiet till midnight on January 31st. Then wham, announced in here in the most readable style possible, and we're all go, awaiting a "goal update" from Chris Kamara or whoever does them nowadays...
