According to The Daily Telegraph, there's still a few to come yet. Other journalists are also saying they think more will follow.I would say the odds are high.I wonder how many it would take for Corbyn to say sod it and throw in the towel. Chuka Ummuna, hopefully. Michael Dugher and Rachel Reeves, perhaps. Chuka won`t as he will see himself as a potential successor if 2020 is an epic failure.Dugher or Reeves wouldn`t surprise me.I also reckon next one could be Smeeth Kevan Jones or Pat McFadden. Lord help us! Fair point on McFadden and co, I was trying to think of the Core Hostile group. Cooper, Creasy, etc seem more likely to play the long game imo.

The name Liberal Democrat comes from the merger of the Liberal party and the Social Democratics. Being literal. Being less literal, the Lib Dems are well known for their long standing support of the EU, and British membership of the EU, and anyone who has ever voted for them or contemplated voting them knows all about that. To get anywhere near changing it, enough people would have to vote for them, knowing that is a key view of theirs, for there to have been a sudden change in that "public mandate". -

Reminds of David Cameron, newsround 2009ish, interviewed by kids. "Why do you want to be Prime Minister?" "Because I think I'd be good at it." Really overrated his own abilities there. -
Ah, as a wise person once said: "If in doubt, outlive the Blairites". She's giving it a good old go.

Far as I know, still visits the Commons now and again (and is known for her "don't bullshit me" icy glares to fools), is well enough to travel to the Scilly Isles, and still writes her poetry. She's also apparently very adamantly Old Labour.

It did surprise me, but then during his trial a journalist pal randomly said he was surprised Rolf was denying he'd ever been in I forget what city it was now, because he (the pal) had actually met him there at a thing in the 80s. I figured he was guilty from then on, that gut feeling you get about things. At least Tony Harts been dead nearly a decade and no one's come out of his closet yet...

A few weeks ago I went looking up deceased big names on the forum to see who broke the news first, and much to my surprise, it turned out that the news Bin Laden was dead was broken by me! All because I was up at 3am watching a bloody awful WWE PPV - Extreme Rules 2011 for the two people interested. Apparently it was in the middle of Christian winning the World title.

He finished considerably off the pace in 78th place.

Four out of five! I expect to see the others on the show before April though, Reaper permitting.

I can't mind which of you kept mentioning him for the Deathlist and TCD again, but, whoever it was, good call!

Only vote I've missed I could vote in was 2007, when I had the mother of all migraines, and wound up heavily medicated and trying to talk to dead relatives. Slept through polling day, woke up about 4am, turned on the news to see the SNP were forming a government. Thought I was still having hallucinations, to be honest! -
Wanted to link to some old post of mine where I said the Lib Dems would be on the rise again soon after the 2015 election, but can't find any, so no assumed smugness here. Just imagine how well the Lib Dems might do with a leader, though.
-
Who knew Scotland 2015 was possibly going to wind up being a trailer for the next UK General election?
-
Trending UKIP, 65% leave - if Stoke doesn't go UKIP in this by-election, they might as well give up trying to win MPs.
-
Deathray and The Dead Cow Thanks! Another careerist walks away from responsibility and his constituents. They really care about you...not. Tristram Hunt leaving Parliament? I can't decide who that is better news for: the general public, Parliament itself, or the Labour party. Possibly all three.

Well, that's certainly an original POV put forth by you. -
Ooh that's such an open goal, given certain allegations...
-
Michael York (Austin Powers, Cabaret) has had it for years. Still with us, though.
-
So, basically, they're spoiled for choice.

I've figured out the best tactic is to pick people who are going to die soon. Just haven't worked out the best way of doing that yet. Aye, if we'd known exaclty when Sarstedt and King were dying, we'd be laughing. (Also, the Deathrace would be won by 30 odd people, and Maryport would be a bit skint...)
-
King or Taylor, Hollingworth, Saward, TK Whitaker, Zygmunt Bauman, ends on some Peter Sarstedt music (lucky us). One of Taylor or King will be passed over to next week. Ferguson-Lees/Soares/Puri picked the wrong week to die but will turn up on it within a month.
-
Good point, well made, and exclamation point by numerous would be DDP picks in the past no doubt!
-
Tell me why? Hey, that's one of only two Bronski Beats references I can make.
-
Not necessarily: I won with a team of basically "oldest economist", "oldest Catholic church Cardinal" and so on, but I was helped by 2015 being a relatively slow starting month on the DDP (and therefore the Deathrace too).
