Damn, was going to mention Die Hard. "I'm afraid Mr Takagi wont be joining us for the rest of his life."
-
He can't really go in the Life in Prison thread, as he's not in prison, but you know who's apparently still alive? 2012 Pan Breed shortlister Andrew Walker, released in late 2011 from a life sentence on "compassionate grounds" due to having not long left to live. In a care home in Lanarkshire as of February this year.

Tongue cancer, according to his lawyer, which has left him, and no snickering at the back, "unable to swallow". And there was me only just recovering over finding out Sandy Jardine's real name too.
-
Hes allegedly got cancer too, iirc.

Ah yes, as a wise man once said: "When TS Eliot claimed April was the cruelest month, clearly he'd never been a player of the Derby Dead Pool..."

A fine actor. He's the villain in the greatest episode of The Twilight Zone (imo), The Obsolete Man, opposite Burgess Meredith. He's also an acclaimed actor in the Frasier episode where Frasier and Niles pretend to their posh friends that they watched a play despite not having tickets to it, and wind up having to discuss said play with the star. A quick glance over imdb shows he was also the corrupt Senator in an X-Files episode, the evil Doctor in the Tales from the Dark Side episode In the Closet, and appeared in one of the few Tales of the Unexpected episodes I haven't seen. One of those dependable character actors.

Do we know the whereabouts of Mack and his knife at the time? I hear he was on the sidewalk.
-
Yes, but so are John le Carre, Ian Holm and Michael Lonsdale, all suitable future Deathlist names too, and I don't see threads getting started for them.
-
Yes. But he's not in any immediate danger, to my mind. EDIT - The Captain snuck in and said everything I did while I was getting fucked around by the quote system.

The Queen's cousin, Margaret Rhodes, has died aged 91. She often showed up as a talking head in documentaries about Libby, iirc she was one of the people the then Princess Elizabeth snuck out of Buckingham Palace with to enjoy the VE day celebrations in London, allegedly.

There's another guy I thought about, former member on here, but the last time I mentioned his name, he showed up! Coughcough*significantdeath*coughcough Can you please mention Hein? Magere Hein. Magere Hein. Magere Hein. Magere Hein. Magere Hein. There. With the added jinx that he doesn't seem like he's going to turn up. (On that note, if his DDP team don't show up in the 2017 DDP, then I'll start getting worried...)

Hmm... in reply to the above. Zsa Zsa Gabor: No way should Zsa Zsa get dropped. I mean, people say Who is the new Ambassador or Clive Dunn? Never mind that, what is Zsa Zsa if not the Deathlist club mascot, who will go one day but teases the hell out of everyone a few more times before? An ability to keep going, a proper vaudevillian husband, and a thread beginning to rival's O'Sullivans. Zsa Zsa is part of the Deathlist furniture, and it'll be end of an era when she conks out. Olivia De Haviland: They drop her, she dies. Sods law. I dislike the risk of missing out on someone who has made nine appearances. Billy Graham: See above Herman Wouk: He's got to go by 2018, surely. Javier Perez De Cuellar: It's a boring pick, but he's been on the list for three years (it just feels longer) and it would be a massive anticlimax if he died off the list now, imo. Richard Adams: Was still doing book signings a year ago, and published a new book this year, but the Indy in March said his health was "deteriorating". Kirk Douglas: Anyone see Mephistopheles hanging around? Liz Smith: Could see her hanging around for another few years ala Anna Wing. Mary Tyler Moore: Don't think she's that ill. Peter Sallis: It's been a Summer Wine year for the Reaper, I wouldn't put it beyond him being the 10th hit of this year. Prince Phillip: Not getting dropped. James Randi: I think he is ill, but I'm rather meh about him. A bit like Aznavour and Jerry Lewis. They might die on the list, or off it, don't really care. Lord Carrington: In 2014: "What do you hope to be doing in 5 years time?" "Well, breathing, hopefully!" Clive James: Cancer will kill him, eventually, but he doesn't seem in much of a hurry. Bob Dole: He should make 2018, agreed. Joost van Der Westhuzien: Think he might hang on till 2017, as he's on my DDP team. We're talking days rather than months, imo. Prunella Scales: In bad shape, but advanced dementia is a difficult one to assess. I suspect 2016 was a year too early. Jimmy Carter: Once a President goes on the list, they only leave it in a hearse. Henry Kissinger: I've already made the damned Mephistopheles joke. Tommy Chong: Rubbish. Doug Ellis: Seems active. George Bush Sr: See Carter. Vera Lynn: Frail and about to turn 100. Leslie Phillips:Looks terrible, quieter than he was, and not going off the list. Sandy Gall: Nice to see a Scot on the list. Fats Domino: No idea how he's still around, to be honest. Robert M Pirsig: Another meh choice. Desmond Tutu: He should be a regular till death. Lester Piggott: Feels Deathlistly but too early. Glen Campbell: Might not see 2017. I foresee great gnashing of DDP related teeth. Stan Lee: Cant see him going in the next twelve months. Jake Lamotta: On till he drops Denis Norden: See above. Murray Walker: Made of strong stuff. He'll make it close to the century in my book. Jimmy Greaves: Think St John's a better bet. Gordon Banks: If he was going to die from what I thought he was going to die of, he'd be dead by now. Jacques Chirac: A good 2017 pick, going by his hospital stay. Stephen Hawking: 2017 is as likely as 2016 or 2015. Paul Gascoigne: People say George Best. I say, there was a hint about Best, in 2003, when he'd got a liver transplant and then KEPT drinking to excess. Gascoigne's still in the Best 1990s aimless drunkard stage. John Noakes: If he gets dropped, it'll be regretted. Bruce Forsyth: It would be stupid to drop him, he's circling the drain imo.

He was on at least one list. Luckily, the person sent in a number of subs as their list was so early.

ONE WAYS TO KILL CASTRO 13/50 25th November 2016 Long time ruler of Cuba and longer time foe of the USA, Fidel Castro, has died at the age of 90 to give The Crowdsourced Deathlist it's unlucky thirteenth hit. The son of a farmer, he studied law before becoming a revolutionary guerilla and working to overthrow the Dominican Republic government. In 1959, he and Che Guevara overthrew the pro-America Cuban dictator Batista. Despite the CIA's best (or worst efforts, depending on how you look at it) to assassinate him, Castro held on as Cuban leader until his retirement in 2006. To say he had a mixed legacy - Cuban Missile Crisis, health care, prosecution of political opponents to pick a selection of them - was akin to saying Donald Trump was mildly divisive, but his legacy as a solid pick on the inaugural Crowdsourced Deathlist is a fine one.

Carlisle appear to be suffering from altitude sickness.

Pretty sure (99%) she's still alive as she'd have been mentioned by someone, never minding the "BBC Reporter Tragically Dies" front page of the Beeb on that day, ahead of nuclear war in India or what not. The silence has been noted, however.

I saw that as a text while I was out and about. My first thought was "Nice spot Charon". My second was: imagine dying in Barrhead of all places.

"You know those days when you've been drinking, and you wake up, and you can't remember what continent you're on?" RIP.
-
Well, so far. There's still 35 days left of the year, and a sudden, say, Putin death would probably jump to the front of the queue in terms of significance.
-
Richard Adams was the last person I cut, but who knows how the actual votes will go.
-
Actually, I was right the first time. Scottish second sight, you know...
-
Glen Campbell. It'll come quite late in the year and cause a lot of swearing about DDP subs...
-
I think your in the minority. It was quite sad though, Mr Fuji was great. Though not a major surprise. On a world level, it's Castro or Ali, but on a personal level, I'm most pissed off about Alan Rickman, Frank Kelly and Wogan.
