I knew of him before, because my dad used to bring up his Million Dollar Challenge. He does come across as Dawkins with less tact, which is saying something.

Now that was a great show.

    Wrestlers/actors

Yes, as a disparaging comment about pro-wrestling back in the day. Not so you can use the thread to post the death of any no name fart with no connection to pro-wrestling.

    Hollywood Possibilities

That lunch club wont be the same. Much respect for someone with a regular cheeseburger habit for over half a century making it to nearly 93, to be honest.

    Shove Off, Eh?

Pan Breed long lister for 2017, Mauril Belanger, wont be risking that 2017 obit. By which I mean he's dead.

    The Crowdsourced Deathlist

Full Time! 10/50 16th August 2016 Joao Havelange has died aged 100 to give The Crowdsourced Deathlist it's tenth success of the year. Havelange was a Brazilian lawyer before becoming a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1963, a position he held for nearly 50 years. In 1974, he took advantage of post-colonial issues to oust Stanley Rous as President of FIFA. Havelange's reigns in charge of both are widely credited with moving international sport away from sports people and more towards multi-national companies and sponsors money. He stood down in 2011 from his honorary positions after it was revealed he had pocketed $40m from selling the World Cup hosting rights over the years. A true visionary, he will be missed by the Charlie Stillitanos and Sepp Blatters of the world.

He's making Eric Joyce look a rank amateur in comparison.

Seen that more than One Foot. Love Father Ted. It's disturbingly accurate too, as I've met many of the archetypes in real life, even the Nazi priest, but I digress.

For......?? Sitcom actor. One Foot in the Grave, widely considered one of the best British sitcoms. He played a world weary OAP who gets pensioned off and has a black humour outlook on life. His catchphrase is "I don't believe it", which is funnier in context. When Meldrew, his character, died, it got a front page obituary in some newspapers, and fan pilgrimages to the "scene" of the moment, so lord knows what'll happen when the actor actually dies. Incidentally, the wife adds that if you watch any one episode of One Foot, you'll basically see me portrayed expertly by Richard Wilson. Can't think what she's implying...

FFS Does he ever stop whinging?* "Oh these doctors are trying to save my life, it's so tiring, boo hoo!" Prick. *Yeah, I know. He doesn't.

    Political Frailty

Sadly he was too young to qualify for The Honourable Member for DDP North. At some point I should update my list of surviving government ministers on this forum somewhere, they've been dropping like flies the last few years.

  16. You should be so lucky!! Reminds me of that random Canadian woman. Not seen her post in ages. Mind you, she said one of my jokes were funny, so I fear for her sanity. It was one of my jokes that caused her to flounce off. Her behaviour was quite inexplicable. That bamboozles me. No offence intended.

    Thoughts On The 2016 List

No, the idea of it being taken super seriously amuses me. It's fairly obvious its not, and nor should it be.

    Radio 4

I didn't know Michael Peacock was still alive! He and Sir Paul Fox appeared as talking heads on The Battle for Saturday Night. Aged but lucid iirc.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2017

Having one of my periodical looks at the fan-mail community for info on celebs who aren't replying to people anymore. It's been an infrequent sources of tips since I noticed Laurence Payne was no longer able to receive mail shortly before his death. Apparently Gene Wilder is believed to be unwell, but that might be those cancer rumours. Otherwise, Jeanne Mockford "is now very ill and is unable to sign autographs no longer."

    Ask A Deathlister

Colon cancer survival rates decrease dramatically if it spreads, and disastrously depending on where it spreads. Post-surgery strokes are a serious mishap which increase substantially the risk of death. I'd say it doesn't look good. As for the obit question, there have been a few cases of 'obitable' friends/friends of family being ill (and later dying). I didn't pick them, and I haven't mentioned their illnesses here. The detached quality of a deadpooler can be stretched when its someone known.

    Peter Sutcliffe

Clarence Darrow Scopes Trial Inherit the Wind, a fine 1960 film in which Spencer Tracy plays a Darrow expy in a spiced up dramatization of the above.

    From Cleric To Relic

Scottish Bishop William Nolan (Galloway) had a heart attack. He is 62, and more of a Deathrace pick.

It is a good book/quote, though.
