    Crew Of USS Enterprise

The new TV show wont be cancelled as they've already signed the Netflix deal on it. The new film suffered from being released in the UK in a heatwave, but even then its already the 17th highest grossing box office of the year in the UK and is likely to be close to the top ten by next update, which doesn't strike me as too bad for a niche genre film. There have been failed Trek films in the past (Star Trek V, Insurrection) and they've still made newer films. Not a fan. I guess these films do well off people going to see them over and over again ala Lord of the Rings.

I think when it comes to the Harts and obits: Bret Hart is a no-brainer. Diana Hart Smith should be due to her status as widow of The British Bulldog (a man who made the BBC news in 2002, lest we forget). TJ Wilson, Nattie Niedhart, Teddy Hart all would if it were a requirement any time soon due to age, the family "curse" and side stories (Wilson surviving the Christopher Reeve neck break, Teddy being properly insane) that would give it good copy. Jim Neidhart, Nattie's dad, should as he was a big name in the Hogan era. Smith and Bruce Hart - Bret's older brothers - are less well known, but still visible enough, one way or another, for journalists to have heard of them. Smith is your typical "promising young athlete turns to hedonism and pisses away their career with demons" story. The rest (Georgia, Ellie, Keith, Wayne, Allison, Ross - Stu and Helen Hart had a LOT of kids) I'd be less assured of, they're less involved in the public eye, and you'd be reliant on a "Bret Hart mourns sibling" type story. With Smith, you have that, plus the references to the untimely deaths of Owen Hart, Dean Hart, Bulldog, and even the kid who died in the 90s (plus they can bring the 9/11 angle with Helen's death), and they get to print stories like the time he no showed a booking in the US to get boozed up instead and as a result Bret subbed in for him and got his first break over there. Or how he tried to promote the son of Chris Benoit as a wrestling star. Or a 100 wayward stories. But then, I'd have assumed a QO for Nick Bockwinkel.

    Gregg Allman

To repeat my comments from last night, he's got "serious health issues", and is currently receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic. A combination of news which has my inner deadpooler intrigued.

With his family, almost certainly. The Daily Mail, for one, wouldn't pass up a chance to talk up "another Hart family tragedy".

I hope he lives a long life but I also hope that his voice damage is permanent. SC Still battling away, but it appears he takes the Sir Creep attitude to cancer.

Smith Hart had a checkup this week, according to his Facebook, and found that his bone and prostate cancer has now spread into his hips too. An update from Smith Hart on Facebook. I hope he's not booked hotels for Wrestlecon 2018 in advance or anything.

    Brian Rix

If he does make January 1st, I doubt he'd be on the list. The current generation of Deathlist tends to pick big household name actors and actresses for those spots.

Sods law it wont be one of the bigger names, so I'm going to guess George Cohen will wind up outlasting the rest. Though I could see Beckenbauer outliving the lot.

And he scored the Dutch goal too! But if you had to look to the first World Cup final with no deaths whatsoever, it'd be 1990!

    The Boys Of '66

I think there's only 3 Brazilians alive from 1958 - Pele, Zagallo and someone I'm forgetting at 1am. A google suggests Zito and he died last year, so 2 it is.

    Derby Dead Pool 2016

Well, now I'm going to be super-curious what these changes were going to be! I don't want to say I'm usually a bit shit at this game, but Pan Breed 2016 has more hits than Pan Breed 2015 and Pan Breed 2014 did combined now.

    The Boys Of '66

The 1966 World Cup final is 2-2 in terms of fatalities, iirc. (Ball, Moore; Haller, Emmerich). Makes me wonder who will be the sole survivor, eventually. Also makes me wonder how other World Cup finals are doing in that regards. A list might be in the offing.

    Political Frailty

He was another who was said to be in remission. Bishop Robinson and Keith Farnham will be quaking in their boots. On a personal superstitious level, I am glad my DDP team didn't hang around at 13 hits too long.

I went to look and see what Tony was up to on his 90th. Planning a second album with Lady Gaga, apparently. Well, didn't see that one coming.

He's said all along his liver should explode late this year (well I did the math lol) so he's right on target. I'm sure I'm quoted somewhere on DL pages saying this early in the year, look for an Oct hit. So long as it's by Dec 31. SC In 2010, he had a year to live. In 2011, he was dying, honestly, but within 2 years. In 2013, he had heart failure and was dying. We're six years on. He'll die one day, we all will, but there's too much of the boy who cried wolf about him. Speaking of wrestlers, Snuka is due back in court for evaluation of his health/competence to stand trial in December. It's as if someone in the legal team plays the DDP.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2017

Ok it's my turn: WHO? "He urged his fans not to worry" when it was discovered that one was kinda worried, whilst the other didn't seem to give a rat's ass. SC I first heard of him about 10 minutes ago, but apparently he had a number one hit in 2013. I feel so old and out of touch. Anyhow, that information guarantees a qualifying obit if he snuffs it.

Want that was Feargal Sharkey? The song does often come into my head reading O'Connor, sadly. Nah, Flannery is a great writer. If you ever feel you are too cheery about the world, give some of her work a read.
