Given I had Prudhomme done as a "Day of No Death record breaker" that's just forgetting to tick it off despite that. Edited.

I didn't count 2016 as it's still ongoing. It would be a pain with remembering the cut off point for, say, the points totals, otherwise.

Allegedly, it'll be the Dimblebot. Which would be good, as Huw Edwards just lacks that x factor in his presenting.
-
Tie breaker - George Galloway is a cunt and wants to get out.
-
On less obsessive compulsive territory, 5th place, 5 hits and 10 points off Spade in February? I'm going to pretend I'm in a title race here.. while I can.
-
If my maths is correct, Lord Avebury is 99th, not 100. I did a count up of 2006-2013 to make sure it hit 79, which it did. He's then had 20 hits since January 1st 2014 Which takes him to 99.

In DDP terms, you'll like this. Not a lot, but you'll like this.
-
Pierre Boulez, Alan Rickman, Frank Finlay and, I suppose, Cecil Parkinson (despite his outright git nature) would add to your list too, certainly.
-
That's always been my view. Someone, say Bibliogryphon or RadGuy or a guest, will post it one sleepy Thursday afternoon, and it'll take people entirely by surprise. There will be the usual "its a hoax", links to fecking Mediamass, and then the old "end of an deadpooling era" posts.

Not enough votes. She finished in 136th place.

A good writer. RIP to her.

There's a difference between wishing you could still do something and thinking you could, which is, I guess, the difference between a Katie Adie or a Clare Hollingworth and a... Kurt Angle. Well, that's the first time in history that comparison has ever been made.

Well, in her autobiography, she admits she's looking forward to retirement and that she wasn't as quick as she once was. It was published in 1988!
-
Her obit would have been prepared a while back. All they need to do is make additions with anything she may have been involved in recently then add the date she died. From what I hear, recent events involve her mostly drinking in Hong Kong at the Press club, and bemoaning the fact that age means she can't report on, say, Afghanistan from the front line. Or three miles into enemy territory looking for scoops!
-
There's remarkably little chatter about it in the usual channels, but from Twitter chatter, I see that he's had some kind of complication on top of the stomach cancer.
-
I love how you manage to slip a reference to that in at any connection to the darts player. Especially as I first heard of it via this forum, as Sky coverage had mysteriously whitewashed it from their 24/7 darts coverage. Mind you, last I ever saw darts, Sid Waddell wasn't dead yet.

Front line reporter during WW2, got the scoop on the Germans invading Poland, front line reporter (one of the only Western ones too) during the Algerian war, uncovered Kim Philby as the third man, was at the scene for Tianneman, and one of the great female trailblazers. I'd definetly say she was, if Chapman Pincher was.

The oldest celebs in my database are Zoltan Sarosy (chess player) and Zhou Youguang (father of Pinyin), both born 1906. Other exciting centenarians include Bobbie Heine Miller (Wimbledon quarterfinalist in 1929), Tyrus Wong (one of the Bambi animators), Robert McCain (John's mum), and Jeremy Hutchison. And there's the legendary Clare Hollingworth, of course.

A big one for Captain Chorizo, who has now become a top title candidate for the DDP. Maybe even THE top candidate as long as Michel Delpech doesn't receive an obit. Unfortunately for me, I thought she would have until 2017. My glance over forum members teams in early January did suggest Chorizo had a team to look out for. They certainly have a team to target 100 points with.

I've heard nothing, but you'd think if there had been an improvement the papers would crow about it along the lines of "English Hero Recovering from Grave Illness" or something like that. There's only two English footballers in history to have won both the European Cup and World Cup, after all. I went for three football punts on the DDP this year based on newspaper coverage using "gravely ill" to describe them. Two of them are now dead. Time will tell, as I always say!

Six to eight months was the estimate life expectancy I read last year. Which would put her in line from March/April onwards. Keep in mind some folk (Martin Crowe) outlive their prognosis, but the year is young.

Ah, I wouldn't worry, when we went down... actually, we wound up in the second division, and took a decade to get back up. But the time before that, actually we wound up in the second division (nearly the bloody third) and nearly did a Rangers 2012 but for Forfar. Thistle are a bad example here, really. Other clubs bounce right back.
