C'est la vie. Shame as after following him on Twitter to keep tabs on his health condition I'd really grown to despise the prick. Eaton in 2014, Travis here. On the third time lucky principle, I fear for the wrestler on Team Quantick 2016. I think the solitary wrestler pick will be an ongoing tradition from me hereon in. Early gut feeling is 2016 will be the year Kamala finally chucks his spear in. I I thought Kamala would be a goner by now. Holding on for that HOF call, clearly.

Clarke has already announced this is his last parliament (standing, not living) but I assumed retirements at dissolution didn't count in the game!

Whilst more the decoy device, I do like how he disposed of the villain in Death's Door. (The thread, incidentally, makes one imagine what ranters would have reacted like had the Deathlist had an internet forum in 1991!)

Yes, points gained on Uncle Terry would be a sad event for Who fans, the world over. Mind you, he's meant to still be in fairly robust health, maybe he just didn't fancy a trip to San Diego/was too busy?
-
I'd heard he was in a bad way, and then swiftly completely forgot to include him on the DDP. So the chances of him seeing 2016 are a bit slim, on sods law.
-
Good to hear Ruth Newman has had her longevity verified while alive. She survived the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, and is still breathing. *insert random plug for 2016 Deathrace here*
-
He'd been ill for a number of years if true. Also, for future reference, Tor are genre publishers (big names in the FSF field, actually) whose authors used to include one Tanith Lee. So things that show up there would be kosher.
-
Oh just post the news somewhere and don't worry *which* thread it goes in. Well, unless you plan to put an actors death in a football thread, of course.
-
Oh, which one? That could be one of a few hundred. Well he is someone who made our list so that narrows it down to 196 and by describing him as 'he' that will further close the field. My particular objection stems from the impression he gives of an over excited red setter retweeting anything that Liz Kendell posts, you can imagine him sitting there with his tongue hanging out waiting to be thrown a treat.. I ran that info through the list of MPs who went for Kendall, and while it brought up a few names, one in particular had retweeted her 10 times in the last 2 days!

I'd always assumed cockwomble came into the vernacular as a description of bureaucratic football officials (eg: "That Greg Dyke is a right cockwomble.") and in the spirit of printing legends over facts, I shall forever assume it to be the case. Oh, which one? That could be one of a few hundred.

I dont like that game, but it'd be someone like Shaw Taylor, in that they just picked him 12 months too early, then dropped him. Whoever he was.
-
might be a while until someone does again after this. He's still the prime suspect as Bible John, right? It's unlikely, but it'd be good if he told the world what he knows about that before someone finally sees him off. Yeah, he is. I think he was, mind you.

Mentioned once or twice round these parts recently, he showed up on Newsnight the other week to discuss his career. I hadn't realised he was alive (and was swiftly reminded he was someone's unsuccessful pick on the Deathrace!) and thought he looked bloody good for his age.
-
Ah the typical Guest "here's someone with a name like a more famous person" post. They never get old.
-
Reading up about the latest WWE lawsuit/counter (this time starring Koko B Ware and Blackjack Mulligan), I learnt that former pro-wrestler/tetchy old man Angelo Mosca has dementia now. Given the headshot issues, it should only be a matter of time before someone younger gets early on set dementia issues. Tommy Dreamer, for example.

I hadn't realised Hutchison was still alive until he showed up on Newsnight a week or two ago. Looked good for 100.

Its probably quiet because he's shown no signs of ill health! (That we know of) Recent Adams updates include him letting the BBC do a four part adaptation of Watership Down, and he gave two print press interviews around Christmas. He still writes, his memory is apparently still sharp, and while he may snuff it tomorrow due to age, there's little talk on here because he's pottering on doing the same stuff he has for the last few decades! Here he is last November, incidentally. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTc2dTMADY4

Still, there's always next time, now folk are getting near him.

Sad news in that article.

I thought Maryport had meant Geoffrey Robinson. And somehow I forgot about the existence of Alex Salmond for this. And I'm flipping Scottish too.
-
Legend and truly a great British hero, who had a well deserved long life. RIP.

From appearances, de Havilland still looks and sounds like she did a decade ago. Some folk just age well. Entertainment Weekly did an interview with her in February... She also apparently replies - intermittently - to fan mail. Due to age she could snuff it overnight, but she sounds in far better shape than most all of the younger Deathlist picks.

81, as paul notes, and interview footage since suggests he's in quite good form for it, so he wont be picked again for a few years, I don't think. And for my first ever DDP entry, I did try to submit Jennifer Jones, having not realised she had died twelve months previously! Luckily, this is not the record, I did hear at one point someone picked a DDP candidate who died in the 1870s, but I never found out who that celebrity was!
