He will still be around in 2025, at which time not only will the next generation of Sir Creeps and BCAlum's bring up this thread and go "What where you guys thinking?", but people will be all "Wow, I've never heard of half the posters on the first page, ms-who?". This would also amuse, though.

Seriously? The Horns of Nimon is one of your faves. I presume that this is an ironic approach for high camp fun rather than a genuine appreciation of the depth and character driven qualities of classics such as The Brain of Morbius, City of Death or The Robots of Death. However, it is worth watching for Graham Crowden's death scene alone. The Horns of Nimon is wonderfully entertaining. It might not be great TV, but I'd rather something be amusingly rubbish rather than pretentiously dark any day.

You and me both!

Soon to be Dr Zhiva-gone? Well, I tried...

It is true, and very sad news.

And for the SF geeks among us... this chap in 2007. Not Lord Kinbote.

The last European Communist dictator from the USSR days left standing (and scourge of my early DDP offerings) General Jaruzelski died one year ago today.

Went for Havelange.

I've often wanted East Dunbartonshire constituency to change its name to one including "Milngavie", just for the poor English BBC journalists to try and pronounce.

Chris Squire of Yes, diagnosed with leukemia.

The Duck of Edinburgh may have died, but luckily, ducks are nowhere near endangered. That's 1am parent humour for you.

FFS, this is a marathon and we're not even at half marathon distance yet. "That guy" may be well up in the running order at the moment. I was being tongue in cheek, MPFC, given I went from bottom place to around 5th in late Summer in this game once with one inspired pick!

I'll have you know I'm alway that guy!

Yes, that person was going on my list, as resignation was part of his election manifesto.

I disagree I think he comes from the I have been elected to do this job for five years and will morally see the parliament out unless he is infirm and could no longer do it to the best of his ability. If there is a safe labour seat going I do not see it as a shoe in there is someone else who might cause a bit of brother bother. On that note, Twitter rumours suggest I was thinking of the wrong Labour safe seat. Ahem.

In fairness, I don't think Kaufman will last the Parliament but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll die. He does, after all, have a very safe Labour seat, and one can immediately think of someone else who might be parachuted in there before long. Someone who might have made a balls up of their election recently.

He'll be on everyone's lists. But then, he's still going and then Jim Dobbin dobbed off getting drunk on Polish spirits. Thats the lottery of death for you. I cannot recall any Father of the House dying whilst holding the post. They haven't since the Great War at least (I got bored checking by that point), but Kaufman is much older than any of the previous ones in the last century bar Winston Churchill.
-
Christ, I thought he'd died or been Yewtree'd for a second there.

He clearly hadn't feasted on the young yet at that point of the day.
-
Sounds cool. I'll have a think on a list.

Now, that's an insult!

Danny. Between the Lib Dem collapse, his own unpopularity, and the extent of bedroom tax issues up north, we could be talking Tatton 1997 levels of vote collapse.
